As a linguist, I was wondering why you chose to refer to Sonichu and the derivative third party works as remixes. I've never heard of the term being used in this way.

@Andjealous It was for a subject where we used "remix" pretty broadly to mean anything that drew attention to its own referents. So Sonichu's a remix because it explicitly says "this character is a combination of Sonic of Pikachu" in issue 0, whereas other Sonic ripoffs (like Awesome Possum or Bubsy) didn't acknowledge what they were. But yeah, I wouldn't use the term that broadly outside of academia.
