These videos confuse the hell out of me. Level 1 with advanced class and an actual lightsaber on Tatooine, Sith Jugg on Tython beating up low level mobs, level 10 jedi using force push, level 25 or so BH still on Hutta,
I think as with all PC mmo's the graphics are the least of the problem, how about some controller compatability for FUN play control. I know you PC guys will holler back that MOUSE/KEYBOARD is better and a controller would never work, but I have 9 years experience of everquest on ps2 that sickens me everytime i try a PC mmo. PS2 everquest is more fluent, more fun and easier to cast ablilties and target mobs than PC imo.

Meaning good textures, good shadows, etc. Aesthetics is when you make your game purposely look a certain way. Think about Borderlands. That game was really cartoony looking, right? That was the aesthetic of it.
And MMO's CANNOT have top of the line graphics, or they'll fail. People play on different PC's, and it has to run on the majority of them.

@913qwerty 15 bucks a month is expensive for a game. I think it should be 5-10$ a month, they don't need that much server money like WoW needs. It will never be as big as WoW.
On the release, it was already bigger than Wow after 7 years. And they need more Server money.. A few months ago, I had to wait to surf their website. Wow is already dying because of Swtor. And Swtor is really worth it.

Do it, it's so awesome. I'm a Trooper with the advanced class Commando and it's really awesome. I have to heal when I'm on low health and stun them and if not, then I just own them with different Ranged DPS abilities. If they get too close, I push them away.

@VideoArtification because the story mainly, honestly, the gameplay isnt my favorite, but meeting Revan and Malgus for the first time is just badass, especially fighting them, unfortunetly the trailers make it seem way better then it actually is

B&S has a more animated style (read: boobs) that i really like (i like boobs) but other then that, GW2 has better combat, gameplay, innovative things and grafics. The reason TOR has such shit graphics, runs so badly on high end computers, and generally has so many problems (aside from EA not caring) is because the engine was a prototype not ready to be used in a product when they picked it up. They just slapped more and more code onto it to try and cover things up (poorly I might add). That's why the game is never going to get much better than it is. It's also one of the reasons why there's a massive delay between using skills and the skills coming out.
GuildWars 2 is going to RAPE - really RAPE this game... it looks lame, the combat looks boring and they bring nothing new to the table except its the first Starwars MMO... :/ Im dissapointed! GW2, im waiting for you baby!
I would say combat in Star Wars the Old Repuplic is similar to any other mmo's...But It has indeed been better than World of Warcraft.However its getting boring in time because combats in mmo does'nt let you have full control of your character. You only click once on your mouse button to attack an enemy and your character attacks the enemy but you do not decide when he/she swings the lightsaber which could be boring in time.

I just bough this game and I must say the graphic really sucks and I got a good computer. I don't dislike these kind of games but this was a perfect example how to ruin a game. Jedi Consular = Sith Inquisitor
Imperial Agent = smuggler
Bounty Hunter = trooper
Bringing combat to a whole new level? Tactical Decisions? No... It's just a copy of other MMO combat... You have the healer, the tank and the damage dealer. No creativity went into this game beyond city lay outs, dialog and story (And even then, 2 out of those 3 are just bad).
Why not? Idc if there are a few lore issues in SWTOR (like lightsabers not one-shotting everything. Besides, WoW defied warcraft lore tons of times), nor does every1 else (besides lore freaks). The game is still great. So what if lightsabers don't one shot everything? They didn't one-shot everything in KOTOR either.
Anyways, it seems to me like MMOs in general are simply not for you. WoW defied lore too, and other MMOs will do the same for gameplay, balance etc purposes.
I saw videos of end game raids or whatever they're called. It was just 10 guys or so standing around some 15 foot tall asshole and all anyone did was stand still shooting shit at him. You just fucking tap your numbered hotkeys in whatever rotation you like best. MMO combat is total shit. Half the time people are swinging at shit 5 feet away, not hitting them, and doing damage, because MMO's don't need any skill. Otherwise you risk losing all the shitty players.
Well, not popular ones. I've heard tales that dark age of camelot I think had projectile spells (needed to be manually aimed, could be dodged) you could move while attacking, dodge attacks by moving, etc. I mean, like an actual GAME.
As opposed to just standing in front of each other tapping hotkeys. fuck that.
If an MMO had combat like dark souls I would kill people to play that.
@bynkiii Except I gave you a real world example of MMO combat that requires more thought than just tapping hotkeys, and I'm pretty sure tera has actual combat. WAR also had collision detection, so tanks had something to do other than just drawing threat.
There's no reason this combat cannot be in MMOs. Planetside is coming out soon and it's going to have good FPS combat. Rakion had great combat but shit netcoding because only one guy hosted it and it had no dedicated servers.
@IAmPhotoBucket As crazy as this is about to sound, Maplestory had an excellent combat system in my opinion. I know where you are coming from. You want a combat system where the average player could maybe tap a few keys, get hit a couple times, then get the kill, but the skilled player could kill the same enemy(s) without getting hit once, right? That's exactly what I am looking for, because I quit Maplestory a while ago. I am anxious to play Guild Wars 2, hopefully its what I want.
@FOoMan777 The only problem with maplestory (aside from having the worst grind ever and being full of koreans or whatever) is that it's 2D, thus encouraging and almost forcing you to KS other people just so you can progress through an area. Maybe that doesn't bother people, I don't know.
@IAmPhotoBucket Oh no doubt. Actually I use to play all the time and ksing was never a real problem at all. It was so much more peaceful back then and the community was amazing, I loved it. Now, mostly because the game got so much easier, there are so much more jerks just trying to advance. I actually like the 2D about maplestory because it works for that game, but what I am saying is the combat itself, the being able to dodge attacks with skill. Implement that in a 3D game... dayum.
the combat in that game is really nice, the people who don't like it either don't know how hard it is to make mmorpg games have good combat... or a butthurt WOW player

I happen to dislike WoW intensly for vaired reasons, mostly it's hardcore fanbase (that's made out of asshles and douchebags), and because I hate mmos. However, for a game that most fans of the Kotor series have been waiting for (myself included) this is just dissapointing. Where's my chance to see the end of the story, where's my chance to go and play, and be inmersed in my character if I am bound on what side I am from the very beginning when I choose class? So, no, fuck this.

Meh, at first I was disappointed. WoW's framerate in combat is more streamlined, but it's way more repetitive, which is probably what threw me off. By the end of the video, though, it looked better, so maybe I'm wrong. I'll be installing BootCamp today so I can get in this game and see what it's about.
Man, 2003 you could have been Revan, epic and powerful. Badass story, with it's very own atmosphere, good characters and dialogs, fitting to the story. Now 2012 you're just one of a million fags in a sterile, boring and mostly empty world, with server-problems and monthly payments and. B&S has a more animated style (read: boobs) that i really like (i like boobs) but other then that, GW2 has better combat, gameplay, innovative things and grafics. Everyone has their own opinion but I think it's pretty obvisou gw2 has a higher product value! ;)

The reason TOR has such shit graphics, runs so badly on high end computers, and generally has so many problems (aside from EA not caring) is because the engine was a prototype not ready to be used in a product when they picked it up. They just slapped more and more code onto it to try and cover things up (poorly I might add). That's why the game is never going to get much better than it is. It's also one of the reasons why there's a massive delay between using skills and the skills coming out.

I would say combat in Star Wars the Old Repuplic is similar to any other mmo's...But It has indeed been better than World of Warcraft.However its getting boring in time because combats in mmo does'nt let you have full control of your character. You only click once on your mouse button to attack an enemy and your character attacks the enemy but you do not decide when he/she swings the lightsaber which could be boring in time.

If they made this game for xbox 360, they would have made so much more money. I would have definitely gotten it for xbox. Plus I don't want to pay like 12-15 dollars a month for a pc game that costs like 60 bucks to begin with. I already pay $60 a year for Xbox live which is a way better deal.

I just bough this game and I must say the graphic really sucks and I got a good computer. I don't dislike these kind of games but this was a perfect example how to ruin a game. It was way too long under production and there has being some massive changes during that time for such games. I'm very disappointed somehow....

Jedi Knight = Sith Warrior
Jedi Consular = Sith Inquisitor
Imperial Agent = smuggler
Bounty Hunter = trooper
Bringing combat to a whole new level? Tactical Decisions? No... It's just a copy of other MMO combat... You have the healer, the tank and the damage dealer. No creativity went into this game beyond city lay outs, dialog and story (And even then, 2 out of those 3 are just bad).

Why not? Idc if there are a few lore issues in SWTOR (like lightsabers not one-shotting everything. Besides, WoW defied warcraft lore tons of times), nor does every1 else (besides lore freaks). The game is still great. So what if lightsabers don't one shot everything? They didn't one-shot everything in KOTOR either.
Anyways, it seems to me like MMOs in general are simply not for you. WoW defied lore too, and other MMOs will do the same for gameplay, balance etc purposes.

"A new level" WHAT A FUCKING JOKE
I saw videos of end game raids or whatever they're called. It was just 10 guys or so standing around some 15 foot tall asshole and all anyone did was stand still shooting shit at him. You just fucking tap your numbered hotkeys in whatever rotation you like best. MMO combat is total shit. Half the time people are swinging at shit 5 feet away, not hitting them, and doing damage, because MMO's don't need any skill. Otherwise you risk losing all the shitty players.

Well, not popular ones. I've heard tales that dark age of camelot I think had projectile spells (needed to be manually aimed, could be dodged) you could move while attacking, dodge attacks by moving, etc. I mean, like an actual GAME.
As opposed to just standing in front of each other tapping hotkeys. fuck that.
If an MMO had combat like dark souls I would kill people to play that.

@bynkiii Except I gave you a real world example of MMO combat that requires more thought than just tapping hotkeys, and I'm pretty sure tera has actual combat. WAR also had collision detection, so tanks had something to do other than just drawing threat.
There's no reason this combat cannot be in MMOs. Planetside is coming out soon and it's going to have good FPS combat. Rakion had great combat but shit netcoding because only one guy hosted it and it had no dedicated servers.

@IAmPhotoBucket As crazy as this is about to sound, Maplestory had an excellent combat system in my opinion. I know where you are coming from. You want a combat system where the average player could maybe tap a few keys, get hit a couple times, then get the kill, but the skilled player could kill the same enemy(s) without getting hit once, right? That's exactly what I am looking for, because I quit Maplestory a while ago. I am anxious to play Guild Wars 2, hopefully its what I want.

@FOoMan777 The only problem with maplestory (aside from having the worst grind ever and being full of koreans or whatever) is that it's 2D, thus encouraging and almost forcing you to KS other people just so you can progress through an area. Maybe that doesn't bother people, I don't know.

@IAmPhotoBucket Oh no doubt. Actually I use to play all the time and ksing was never a real problem at all. It was so much more peaceful back then and the community was amazing, I loved it. Now, mostly because the game got so much easier, there are so much more jerks just trying to advance. I actually like the 2D about maplestory because it works for that game, but what I am saying is the combat itself, the being able to dodge attacks with skill. Implement that in a 3D game... dayum.

I happen to dislike WoW intensly for vaired reasons, mostly it's hardcore fanbase (that's made out of asshles and douchebags), and because I hate mmos. However, for a game that most fans of the Kotor series have been waiting for (myself included) this is just dissapointing. Where's my chance to see the end of the story, where's my chance to go and play, and be inmersed in my character if I am bound on what side I am from the very beginning when I choose class? Meh, at first I was disappointed. WoW's framerate in combat is more streamlined, but it's way more repetitive, which is probably what threw me off. By the end of the video, though, it looked better, so maybe I'm wrong. I'll be installing BootCamp today so I can get in this game and see what it's about.
