The nice thing about Luigi's role is that he's one of the three who you can defeat Tabuu with, along with Ness and King Dedede.

Here's a tip: the giant hostiles with a pair of huge scythes are easier to defeat if you attack their soft head, same with those arm-firing enemies if you attack from above.

It never hurts to check the trophy description of enemies you've defeated.

About the three recoveries... Mario's cape only puts him up a little and who the hell uses FLUDD. I only use him for edgeguarding and Luigi's up-B does have the power of the home-run bat when sweetspotted.

CHEAP? Try Pit. He is capable of canceling any moves you pull. Ike is fuckin easy to destroy bc of his speed. Ike's best moves are his standard aerial A and standard 1,2,3 A. Meta Knight isnt nearly as cheap as i thought he would be.
