I think NASA missed a good opportunity to generate a little revenue from each shuttle launch, Imagine having a small capsule inside ,or even external on each booster, with windows, seat, and life support for 20 minutes, what space enthusiast would not want to ride along with the shuttle, at least until the boosters separated? What an awesome ride that would be, as seen here..... I imagine they could go for 1 million a ride? 5 mil? 10 mil? someone would want to do it !
Absolutely breathtaking!!! The music and vid both goes well, so beautifully done - one of my favourites. Simply love it. Am wondering if all the great on-flight cameras are available on dvd?
that is incredible stuff. the juxtaposition between the elegance of the takeoff music and the despair of the ultimate separation was excellent. good viewing, thanks for posting!
they whole space research faciltys at nasa are going to quit or something and the us is going to have a new space designer that has more futuristic looks to the space shuttle and stuff that's what I heard.
Wow, that was really cool! I kept wondering why the thing stopped spinning at around 4:30 and didn't figure it out until I saw the parachute near the end... :headdesk: Anyways, I love the soundtrack, it fits space perfectly! 5*
I know I'm going to be in the minority here - the dual view is spectacular, but the music kills it for me. The natural sound recorded when these boosters fell is much more engaging
I like the rattle-rattle sound when the boosters separate on another video somewhere -- makes it sound like you're really there strapped to the booster (a fun ride, I think!)
Well, that 'life form' will likely still be human...a thousand years ago is when Vikings made it on longboats to Canada, using Iceland and Greenland as waypoints. I say a shuttle launch would look to people a thousand years from now to be about as cumbersome and tedious as longboats are compared to, say, a cruise ship.
Great point, although never before human kind has been threaten of it's existence due to its own creations. But I agree that it will be looked upoun as basic stick shift. I just hope we see alot of progress in the space program in our life time.
I would say the shuttle is more analogous to the pyramids moreso than longboats. It'll be considered the brute force method for getting to space. I'm sure we'll come up with something a lot more elegant 1000 years from now. Like going from making buildings from solid stone to skeleton steel.
I dont know what to say. The music and the video are just so WOW!!! Its so beautiful. The song Deap Blue Day seams to give the video a soul. Grate work.
like the video man it awesome and the music love it sounds like slowmotion cowbow song let me know who's the artist of the song.. you should do more videos like this.. There's a website http://www.eclipticenterprises.com/gallery_rocketcam.php have more rocket videos you could make
Thank you for posting this awesome footage, just about the nearest I've felt to being (almost)in space! The choice of music is brilliant. We need more of this stuff, really showing the wonder of space travel, maybe you could set the shuttle's backflip manouver recently filmed by the International Space Station to An Ending (Ascent)' also by Eno? Great job!

Just figure that it takes less than 10 minutes for the entire process to be complete, SRB, detachment, and re-entry, to the ocean.

Compliments to you, this is beautifully done!! The second piece of music is menacing, but not "in-your-face" about it, so all the better.

I wonder what life form a thousand years from now would think of this...as simple maybe as us getting in and out of a car?
