@h0b0ch1c but I think his music is largely about the problem you describe. this is a lesser song on a great album--and yeah--you're right, he does "try too hard" in the video. but I think that's what he's getting at. its gonna sound pretentious, but I think what it's really "about" is the "inauthentic." human evil, boredom, the appetites, Satanism, self-loathing, put in a cute package and waved in front of everyone's faces so close they can't recognize it.
