Gotta get the drummer to listen CLOSELY to Buddy Miles. The HH is the only thing that plays on the "and" --and the kick plays 8ths on the 3rd beat; everything else is straight on--it's groove not syncopation. That snare hit on the "and" of 2 is killing the groove.

Bass: Get that strong I V VI pulse going--it gives a gospel feel. Listen to Billy Cox.

I usually love what you guys do but this one drags badly.

Solo was pretty good - but the overall groove is impossible to re-achieve unless someone can resurrect Jimi and Buddy. Deep down - we all want to be Jimi (for a least a day) even though we will ALL fall short.

Knocked-out! This is one of the best covers I've ever seen.None of these guys was in Hendrix' band, however.The lead-man does in fact have his guitar turned upside down just like Hendrix. Drums and bass are excellent too!

I am an old drummer also. I like the comment about Buddy Miles being a Steam engine, I realize now that is what drove this song. I have been playing this song for 30 years, listen intently to the open highhats, bass drum, and all of Buddys work, and this group will fly! Good job, drummer, drive that band!

The problem is the drummer, all "soul" or feeling is based on a drummer in a band. This drummer is playing weak, he isn`t on top of it.. Compare this to Hendrixs version with Buddy Miles..Buddy is like a steam engine and what`s even more incredible was he was singing while doing it.

I`m not comparing them at all to Hendrix or Miles, but just mentioning that with a band that does copies like this or any band for that matter, any band that does beat music or rock or anything involving beat, they will always only be as good as the drummer. The drummer is always the leader in a band like that.

its not really that buddy miles played countersnare style means he played the snare on the first and the third beat this guy does the normal 2- 4 style does not have the effect of the original

The REAL Band of Gypsys had Jimi Hendrix in it. It would be nice if that had been stated. Thanks to Buddy Miles, these guys probably did a more "listenable" version.
