wolves should not be kept as pets. they should be protected in the wild or in a reservation center like yellowstone. they are not meant to be trained and domesticated...
i aboslutly LOVE wolves im only 13 but i mean.... it would be awsome to go to wolf park i want to so badley and if i did go i wish i could jus like spend the night wit the wolves :D i would do that but they prob wont let pplz to that lmao i mean i prob could get along :) im like half dog/wolf lmao but im human like i can howl and bark and i yawn like them to its automatic lol o and when i get hurt i also automatically whine like them too!!! ikr its weird but i love it :D amazing creatures the r
wolvesare my favorite animal and i am only 17 and only a senior in high school but i have already taken classes on small animal science and training and behavior of all k9's and other animals. i dont know but i especially love wolves. i would die to be able to intern at a place like wolf park, and actually get to experiance what the wolf mind really is. wow. Bekka
hey there, i have a wolf dog who is seriously struggling with behavior issues... I jus realized that it may not be her, its most likely me not understanding pack instincts and all that..... Is there any books you would recommend for learning, wolf behavior, how to be become the alpha ect ect.... much appreciated ! :)
I took a seminar on behavior and management of captive wolves at this park. The people that taught this seminar were very knowledgeable and experienced in all that pertained to wolves and hybrids and all kinds of animals and issues for that matter. They taught us about biology, behavior interpretation, and we met the pack. They also have a store that you can access online; they have books on wolves and hybrids. I would recommend getting an ethogram-it helps out a lot.
Very interesting. I've been really thinking quite a bit about wolves lately. The thought of working with wolves appeals, hard work though it may be. There's nothing more enjoyable than to see a canine learning its abilities. Wolves are especially clever, and it's nice to see their minds put to use.
I appreciate the usefulness of this training, too. Using it as a distraction WOULD be useful. I'm guessing it takes a lot of mutual understanding between trainer and wolf for it to work, though.
I wish I can go there but I'm in Ireland and that's far away plz someone help me!

Hm, my german shephard baby already leaps. I could capture it and turn it into a cued behavior.
Yes it is nice to see a vid highlighting a wolf's brain instead of a howl video.

wolves are very smart and beautiful! im glad to see them using their time thinking --not just being in a "wolf park" for show-you know what i mean?
