  • how did u make him flip?

  • @totakeke1234 A technique called masking, you keep the camera absolutely still take a shot of the set without the minifig then put the minifig into the set, the minifig is on an arm to the right of it and he rotates around the arm. You then put each frame into Photoshop with the 'clean set shot' as a layer underneath. Then you erase out the arm in each frame leaving the clean set shot exposed and hey presto, no arm is visible anymore.

  • @FunnyBoysFilms thanks, ive been wnting to knw hw you did tht for a while. Can you make a video showing this so that i can understand it better and visually?

  • thats the best

  • I'm a jester fanatic and I stumbled across this video and found it delightful! Thanks for making it! I was not familiar with the music of Tingstad and Rumbel before now, so I am grateful that you used it. I am purchasing some of their music online right now (starting with "Pastorale" of course!). Thanks!

  • lol that was cool

  • what kind of music?

  • @Sekowiak Hi All the music details are in the Info of the film above :-)

  • what kind of music

  • @Sekowiak - I searched the internet for 'Jester Music' and I found this peice. It is typical of Medieval Folk music. I tried to trace the owners of the music with no joy. But then they found my video and liked it. So they graciously allowed me to keep the video on YouTube. Lovely people.

  • i think its like hunting music or some sord of song

  • really cool is this.... motion pictures??? really awsomee dood

  • saai maar wel goede animatie

  • lol im planning on making something with the new "Kindgdoms Jester" but its gonna be like a horror type thing.

  • Awsome stop motion!

  • are you still making videos?

  • Wonderful, simple, the music and the animation were perfectly in the spirit of a medieval court. A lovely tribute to the Jester!

  • Hi I am the composer of the Jester - Nancy Rumbel! I just found this and absolutely love it!! Wish you could have done the whole piece!! I'll enjoy looking at your other videos!

    Cheers! Nancy

  • No thank you. I took a risk using the music without permission but at the time I couldn't find a way to contact you to ask permission to use a small bit of it. So I made sure that full credit was given and I am so pleased you like it. The music is lovely very beautiful album.

  • You did this for flash Wednesday? :P Anyway nice video, the animation was great and the music fit well, I forgot to leave a comment back when it was released D:

  • Nope I didn't do it for flash Wednesday, it made this a while ago, but it sort of fitted the theme so I linked to it anyway.

  • I just made a video bout somethin like this Haha urs is waaaaaay better though haha =D Plz look at it and tell me what u think =D

  • I love this haha! =D But how do you make them move and stuff? is it some kinda.... website of some sort haha Awesome vid Btw

  • its called stopmotion

  • Awesome video dude!

  • Those gymnastic moves of the jester were so smooth. I`d like to see him entertain the King next.

  • nice video i have tryed to make a jester video too its on youtube now but your movie are much better

  • where did y6ou find the song?

  • With all my films I do a lot of searching to find the perfect sound effect and if I can't find one, then I make one myself. The Jester music I just found by searching a lot on the net.

  • I love it because it runs so smoothly

  • Awsome 5/5

  • My God, that was awesome!!!!

    :D

I just got the Jester minifig aswell. He looks so cool with his double face!

  • he says a bad word at the end.

  • No he doesn't - Listen carefully.

The maid says 'You're such a fool'

The jester replies ' Thank You'

    Good grief !

If my films contain content not suitable for younger audiences I given them a film rating like did with my film 'The Infected'

  • did he say thank u or fu

  • haha nice vid!! i liked the flips!!

  • i ,like this vid it makes me happy every time

  • Thank you. I am so busy with so many things at present. But I really hope to get back to brickfilming soon.

  • *****!

Not only do you like building James May's Lego house but you also make fantastic Lego films....quite creative really.

You could do a mini-series of this and create your own show.....people would watch!

  • I like the background songs, It's so cheerful.

  • Where did you get the Jester? PLEASE REPLY!

  • Please read the video comments :)

  • well done!!

  • this wuz a great film u wasted no effort with even masking in photoshop. ive faved this and ur now in my list of "good animaters. very good animation.

  • Wow!

  • very good. where did you get the jester lego?

  • there is a lego castle advent calender?

  • erm yes !

  • Can u get it in the United States?

  • No, it was only in Europe.

  • i noticed at 0:16 u used green screen

  • No there is no green screening in this film, it is all done with masking in photoshop.

  • that takes even longer!!!

  • Yes but sometimes it is the best method. The problem was I forgot to put a shadow back in for the minifig as he tumbled. So it looks like he is chroma keyed in. I will not make that mistake again. I do use green screen, in fact there was a lot of it in my 'The Infected' movie.

  • nice jester outfit

  • Was this done with a logitech 9000?

  • Yes it was.I used AnimatorDV Simple+ for frame capture. In fact all the hardware/software is listed in the credits. I am thinking of used Helium Frog for frame capture from now on. It is free, has HD quality and Onion Skinning, so it looks very good.

  • lol, laffin so much when jester ses fank you!

  • So, what day Jester will come?

I mean, I don't want to open all these boxies, to find it..

  • It is on day 24th, Christmas Eve :)

  • do you know when it comes out in the US? im guissing after thanksgiving but i dont know, and do you think you could do a review on the set?

  • I am guessing you are referring to the Castle Advent Calendar. It is miles better than the City one. There are several minifigs in it that aren't available separately. A couple of knights with spare Armour and crowns so you can chop and change and make another knight or a king. It is a very nice set. Worth a buy.

  • how did ya make him jump?

  • Masking, go to the link for bricksinmotion in the video info and join our forum, you can find out about masking etc there. We are always happy to help.

  • Thanks, coming from you that is a compliment !

  • So cute. Great job, I think this was very good animation and all. Amazing quality.

  • Very cute! Good job.
