I paid $599 for mine.......gun prices in my area are high. I had to drive 20 miles away to get that price, My local store wanted over $650
I got the sub in 9mm, the compact and full size were about $50 cheaper. I went in for a kel tec p11, but after renting the px4 I fell in love with the DA/SA trigger and spent more than intended.
Paid $540 +tax and I couldn't be happier. Accurate, well made except for the ridge on the safety is a bit awkward for me. Love this gun. 2000ish rounds through it and not a problem so far.
i got a .40 type d for 508 after taxes and everything love the gun just wish i was able to find the type c but either way love the gun...happy shooting
@thephilchannel Sorry, I should have clarified in the video that the $700 was the full price I paid for the pistol, an extra magazine, and the total sales tax. The price of the gun by itself, the $45 magazine cost deducted, and without taxes included was just under $600. However, out of four dealers where I priced it, the lowest was $600 up to a staggering $730....Same model, nothing extra, without taxes. So the MSRP can be $500 or $5,000; I just went with the best deal I could find.
@thephilchannel Depends a lot of where you live. I see a lot of gun videos form California and they regularly pay $200 - $300 more for the same thing I could get here (in Ohio) for less.
Skimp out on money? Stopping power? If you want the 9mm, dont do it for the money, do it for ammo capacity or lighter weight. I own the .45 and swear by this firearm. Spend the extra dough and by a cannon half the weight of the colt .45. This weapon is fun to shoot, super acurate, and kicks like an AMERICAN soccer player, yeah im bringing soccer back for a couple of weeks till world cup burns out. But all lame jokes aside, good vid man and thanks for posting. Any Beretta owner is fine by me.
hey bro i also own one of these guns, and between me and my big brother we must have put 10,000 rounds through it. never had a problem, and it shoots just like the day i bought it.
@dean147100 I know man, I'm telling ya; this gun is incredibly reliable. I'm very pleased with my purchase. It always gives me pause going to the range with my friends and seeing their gun seize or malfunction and recognizing that while at the moment it isn't terribly serious, what would be the consequence of that gun malfunctioning when it's being used for self-defense? Thanks for the comment.
Hey dude.. I realy love that gun.. But i heared about beretta being not that robust... Do you recommend it, or does it fall appart after a few thousend rounds?
@swissfa18 I have put about 5,000 rounds through mine and I did months of research about this model before purchasing it and every review I saw said people had put 15-45,000 rounds through it and counting and never experienced a misfire. I totally recommend it.
I'm having technical issues with uploading videos so I can't upload my own how-to for cleaning the Px4; however, simply search for "clean px4" on YouTube and you will find a handful of walkthroughs on how to field-strip and reassemble your Px4. Just make sure you pay attention so you'll know how to put it back together, lol.
For cleaning it, any basic gun/pistol cleaning kit will suffice, just so long as it has a proper brush to clean inside the barrel, a small brush to clean the tiny *cont*
nooks and crannies of the gun. Also, you must buy a cleaning kit with gun oil; keeping your gun well lubricated is essential for avoiding misfires and extending the lifetime of your Px4. Except when you absolutely cannot manage to do so, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS clean your gun after firing it, whether it was an entire day of shooting 1,000 rounds or just one single shot.
Keep water away from your pistol; anyone who knows what happens when oil and water are "mixed" should know why. *cont*
You should stick to lint-free cloths when finding something to wipe/clean your handgun. Always make sure that you have thoroughly brushed/cleaned the parts of your disassembled gun, and then wiped each with your lint-free cloth, before applying your gun oil.
When lubricating, you need to make sure to use the right amount. A slightly glossy look is what you are going for; if it looks very "wet" or the oil is running, you're using too much and if it looks bone dry, you need more. *cont*
You should focus on parts that rotate/slide/turn/etc. when applying the gun oil. Keep in mind not going overboard because too much oil will attract dirt/dust/etc. Make sure no lubricant collects on or too close to the firing pin or else you're risking dirt/dust causing a misfire.
After you've cleaned and lubed up each piece, reassemble the gun and make sure everything slides, locks, cocks, whatever, the way it's supposed to.
Wipe off any excess oil and then lock it away safely. All done.
My next purchase will also be CCW. One major stat I will look for in a gun is the caliber; avoid .380. The stopping power is hardly comparable to a 9mm and .380 ammo is just a pain to find in the first place. That said, here would be my top 3 picks:
1. Sig-Sauer P228 or P229
2. Springfield Armory XD Compact or Sub-Compact
3. Bersa Thunder 9mm
In the end though, your best bet is to find a local gun dealer with a range, ask what the dealer recommends, then test fire the ones you like.
I was actually looking at the XDSC as well. Along with the M&P Compact. I actually like the ergos of the M&P and it is a striker fire type design which would be different from the traditional SA/DA with a hammer like the PX4.
The M&P looks like a good buy, too. One final point I will offer you when it comes to buying a gun for concealed carry; make sure you can conceal it. The best methods of concealment are ones that keep the gun easy to reach, easy to retrieve, and that don't hinder you in your everyday activities. Remember, a gun on your hip or in a shoulder holster is hardly a concealed weapon and, although convenient, it isn't discreet and in some jurisdictions is even illegal ("brandishing a firearm").
i ccw my px4 with no "printing" at all. find a holster shop that can custom make one and you will have no problem. kimber makes an excelent compact 1911
Funny you should ask cuz I just went out shooting with some friends today and while my buddy's Colt M1911 .45 ACP and his Glock (can't remember which model it was) both jammed, I have yet to have a single misfire and I've put at least a thousand rounds through it.
I spent a month researching different handguns before settling on the Px4. Numerous sources said they had put tens of thousands of rounds through it with no misfires. Can't speak for the .45, but the gun's core design is flawless.
i believe it, i used to have the 92f (9mm) and it was flawless, i'll probably get the px4 .45. i do trust the quality of a glock but i can't get past the fact it has no safety or decock, just seems dangerous to me
@JustJoey23 I totally agree with on the expense of ammo today I use have a Glock 21 full size 45 acp, well I don't know if I'm going to get a 45 again because of the cost of 45 ammo. Maybe look into the beretta you have or 357 sig or 10mm.
Nice video. I have a PX4 in 40. Decent gun, but I think I'll be putting night sights on it. The Canadian Border Guards went the 9mm version, like yours. Guess it's pretty reliable even at very low temps. Take care.
Man that is a sweet gun! Thanks for the mention btw! Ya my fathers police issue S&W 4046 is a pretty sweet gun but the only problem with it is it has no safty so that can be a problem but other then that I love it! Sweet vid man I give you props!
Anyone have ammo issues?
