I used to dance on this song in the early eighties. It was a real floorfiller in a discotheque in The Hague (Netherlands). When they played this song all the disco boys and girl leave the dancefloor to make room for us “New Wavers”. This was our song ;-) This is the First time I see a real videoclip of you instead of the static recordlabel in all the other Youtube movies. Great song, good memories and a real Classic. Thanks for uploading!
cw, yes, i am still very much involved in music. after a few years producing ( roger waters, laurie anderson, hugh cornwell, pete wylie, big dish ), i got involved in composing music for television ( globetrekker ) and adverts ( to many to mention ). Of late i have got back to live performance ( playing saxophones ) both in rock ( roger waters 'dark side of the moon' tour and deaf school ) and jazz ( my SOHO Project and a weekly gig at the crown hotel in London which we webcast).
Ian , absolutely superb . i have loved this song for so many years . Remeber going out and buying the 12 inch version when it came out . Still in my top 20 of all time . what do you do these days . are you still in the music business ?
On the recording I used mainly a Roland Jupiter 8. As I remember we also used a Jupiter 4 and Sequential Circuits PRO One ( for bass ). Most of the parts were programmed in my Roland MC-4 microcomposer and some were played by Ian Curnow. The drums were overdubbed by Simon Phillips.
Ian, I love this song. We bought the vinyl back in 83. I even learned it on the keyboard. The look and sound/look you guys had was defining to new wave electro/romantic. The track even today sounds refreshing. Also has a Softcell type sound. Love it! Was the Oberheim used for the track or did you use a different synth?
OMG this is brilliant, never heard it in the 80's. What a gem. Absolutely love it.

I do love this song, but just discovered 'Ready Steady'. What a fantastic song. Which was the bigger hit?
