Mahalo, Very beautiful tribute. My husband & I are not from Hawaii but were married in Hana, Maui. We have made many trips to Hawaii since '82 not just as tourists but rather a learning experience into the Hawaiian cultures, peoples and the music. Made many wonderful friends. Hawaiians are a warm wonderful people and history is a very sad one. This brings tears. Love this song.

Beautiful mele written during the time of dark evil forces of the barbarian white race who overthrew the Hawaiian government for greed and profit, yes the same ones who massacred the native American Indians and enslaved the Blacks.
Aloha oi, another beautiful but sad song written by his sister the last Queen Liliokalani a mele prostituted by the visitor industry for profit. shame on these white parasites and those currently in charge.
