  • real good job dude!! and you not only made it look easy, but you looked like you were having a blast!!! Bravo!!!

  • @johnnyrebelnc that's most likely because when you play a song you know on steel drums, you do have a blast ;-)

  • i personally just memorise them. Practice it enough, and they turn into motor skills. Thats how you'll quite often find players, such as myself, who can play without needing to look at the pan once. You know how your arms and hands are at all times of the songs, and you just do a dance in effect. Bit more complicated than that, but in essence...just remember how to move, and you're sorted. Do it enough times, and you're at the top. The real trick is figuring out the positions, on your own comps.

  • My mom lurves Jimmy Buffet.

  • That's awesome!

  • Very nicely played, improvisations and all, though it's inherently a great tune for steel pan anyway. I would love to hear the bass line on those monster low-pitch ones instead, but you rarely see those outside of full-blown steel orchestras.

  • truly amazing !

  • dude great work!

  • Great Job!
