@ethersoul the only band i know of that can match chevelles amazing metaphoric meaning is of course tool. i dont compare them because they are worlds apart in music, but one of pete's biggest influences is maynard. you can definatly hear it in his lyrics and vocals.

Tool is a major influence of Chevelle, and I must say I enjoy Tool as well, but Chevelle is definitely its own monster....its simpler to some people, but to me its so much more complex....they have a way of fucking blowing up my mind with a few words...and that guitar sound...its hard to explain. I just want to say yes... you can be influenced by a great band...but completely use that influence to develop an original style.

As far as I can tell, the title stems from one of two things...

Leto, a character from Dune, or the Titan goddess of the unseen and also the mother of Apollo and Artemis-Leto. ^.^

You all are nuts, 'read' Pete's interviews about all the trouble Joe caused with constant fighting with his brother's, showing up late for many shows intentionally & demanding more money incl trying to sue his brothers for more money, while touring, Pete said in the interview that him and Sam had huge anxiety almost every day about how Joe would act everyday, and including if he would even show up late or at all and play. He was very good on bass, but his voice was terrible, Dean kicks ass !!!
