@billybulge Frangible ammo is well known to produce massive amounts of energy. But it is lighter, and therefore shoots higher and also has a lack of penetration because the round disintegrates on contact. The ammo is incredibly over priced and comes in packages of five or some idiotic number. Advertising is geared towards rednecks or retarded tacticool gamer fags. Great for shooting watermelons or in cases where you don't want penetration. But certainly not the end all be all as they claim.

This stuff does a good job of blowing up fruit and not going through multiple walls, but as others have mentioned, its penetration through tissue is pretty iffy. You can't always get a straight-on shot through a BG's chest; if he's turned slightly aside, it has to pass through more of his torso to reach, say, his heart, lungs, or spinal cord, which can require at least 12" of penetration. Good shot placement and regular JHP's in a good caliber beat overpriced gimmick ammo that MIGHT work.

Hollow points and incendiary ammunition for convention calibers are legal in Texas and, likely, most other states. I live in Texas, but I'm not sure how states like California and New York treat ammunition. Most laws focus on the receivers of guns for regulation.
