  • this is very intertest for when I wasa a kid we had a ,48 sixabout the same Cu.inch. there aere many eaon the straight eights failedbesides they took to mutch room under the hood so the bore could not be all tht grate plus withthe lllng Crankwafter the were more porblems the old Packrd eights had nine maine bearings did the Pont have only 7 or 5 the ws moer fex high speed but like Linc V12 id the driver had to becareful not to lug it in third gear I wish I had a book dis all postwar cars

  • cool ! wow is that smooth

  • So the engine and tranny are from 1950, but what year is that hair style? Perhaps the most outrageous head of hair on youtube. Wait, was that Mick Jagger?

  • And one more thing. YOU CANT GET ENTIRE CAR FOR A COUPLE MORE IF YOU WANT AN ENGINE IN ***THAT*** CONDITION. dumb faggots.

  • sounds nice!

  • 8 cylinders 105 hp.

half that engine in todays standards will do 150% more power

  • @kreigsmann i think you're kinda dumb, that was in 1950 you fool

  • @thdmtr no shit sherlock thats why i said in todays standards.

1hp per cubic inch is mandatory in todays engines

  • @kreigsmann ouch

  • According to the video, the torque converter was rebuilt. That is an error!

The only automatic transmission that was ever available for the Pontiac straight 8 was the GM 4-speed Hydramatic. That transmission never had a torque converter. Instead, it had a fluid clutch that did not multiply torque.

  • I have the same motor, 59k on it and I am selling it. it came out a 50 Silver Streak Coupe

    Dvstrait7777@msn.com

  • wow for a couple thousand more u can get the entire car!

  • @hep2jive For $5500 it should include the car, or maybe $6000, who would want a 1950 Pontiac with no engine, or an inline eight Pontiac with no car? Those engine run nice but they were never a powerhouse, I think they only made about 110 Hp and were under 300 cubic inches, it isn't like a flat head Ford or even an Inline eight Buick.

  • @OlegKostoglatov yeah thats very true, i think they have even less than 110 HP is probably 275 cubic inches.I bought an entire 1949 Plymouth for $4,500 and bought a nice 1947 pontiac streamliner coupe for $10,000 (see my videos)...

  • @OlegKostoglatov I would buy that because I'm an engine collector, and thats a collection engine, but I'm in a country where you CANT import used engines/cars.

  • Sweet sounding machine! Beautiful looking too.

  • Makes me wonder what the torque output was for this one, because 103 horsepower is a shocker for an engine that's 268 cubic inches. The slant Hemi 245 6 cylinder (Australian version) put out 160 horsepower unmodified. The only real advantage is has over this one is overhead valves

  • Have you sold this engine set up??

  • how did you remove the drive shaft from the transmission? i can't remove mine for some reason

  • Seems pretty pricy for an engine and trans. Good luck, By the way the crank is 10 under not 10 over. I'll sell you a great running 40 flat head six for 15K, and it has a prestine stock businessman's black couple wrapped around it, wide whites and flawless paint and chrome, original seat covers, 70K miles. I refill the leaky front knee actions and off I go for a ride in the country. I oughta replace the damn things.

  • I want to make a trackday hotrod around this engine *drools the screen*

  • would you take $1000 and will you do free delivery too canada

  • The owner is also offering the hearse in addition to the engine...contact for more information.

  • Great video!Try listing on YouAuction.
