Skype in iPod touch 2g - do-it-yourself microphone

I went to your site and looked at the picture, but I'm still not getting it. The ring furthest from the tip is ground. The 3rd ring is signal for mic.... I understand electret microphones require power from audio signals, but then it appears that your diagram shows that I should either ground the 3rd ring or use the tip for ground...

Can you attach labels to the red and green wires on your diagram?

Ground is the third tip from the tip.

some desk mics DO work u just have to leve some of it out of the ipod

is there a way i can take apart the des mic and connect it to an earphone because i just downloaded i am t pain and wanted to use it

If it works when connected to the mic input of your PC, then it won't work with the ipod touch.
