Homies be slaughterin slobs up in dat bitch, then he goes home and starts tryin to get some respect but ain't one homey got his back. He's like, "But we been flossin and flyin all over dem greaseballs." Still no respect. homeboy's like "are you shittin me" and dude's like "no, and guess what bro, you da man who's goin with em." Then homies like "Waaaaaah!" cryin to his lady and shit.
Hannibal´s misstake was to think that Rome would abide by the rules!
Carthage itself they´re misstake was their fear off Hannibal by that time Carthage should have won the war yet they helped Rome by refusing to send aid to Hannibal!
Hannibal mastered a true way to destroy rome, this way was simply using logic, why use men to crush your enemy when you can get elephants to do it for you. But skipio used logic too, and he used it well. He sat on the side lines watching hannibals ever move so when it was his turn to step up to the plate he just read his notes and used them effectively. It is quite ironic that the only thing that could outsmart hannibals brilliant mind was hannibal himself.
@vauxala Rome became an empire by strength of arms and good generals, they survived that long because stupid carthage was stupid, and marius provided the troops for caesar to destroy the roman senate and for his adopted son, augustus I to become emperor.
The mistake was going over spain.. They should have travelled to some beach close to Ostia directly (If only they knew where it was and how to navigate to it)
In fact the Romans knew exactly what they were doing, the Carthaginians couldnt send Hannibal reinforcements simply because Rome was pressing them hard on other fronts.
Hey I'm Greek, I do respect Carthage and I wish one day to visit that mythical city! Although I can't compete Hannibal or Carthaginian armies, to the Greek armies and their excellence! I'm watching now the documentary, cause I did a test in facebook "What great general are you", so it said I'm Hannibal hehe :p
In Lebanese and even Arab politics today, the leaders are so corrupt and think only of their pockets that any leader who stands for the country is seen as a liability rather than an asset.
Tunisians can't be categorized under the term "muslims" it's not even an ethnic group, we share multiple heritages and decents starting from the punic, roman, norman-vandal, iberian, north african berber/numidian/amazighen, arab, hebraic-andalousi jewish, sicilian, maltese, caucasian, turk etc..that got assimilated into one homogenous population nowadays.Yes carthage's populatin was sold into slavery but it wasnt the case for the other punic cities like Utica ,Hadhrumetes,Thapsus, Jektis.. Peace.
Ignorance is lethal, carthage DOES exist, I freakin live in it , in nowaday tunisia, it's one of the most beautiful places in Tunisia, almost 15.000 inhabitants, including the president of the republic who lives in the Carthage presidential palace.. Furthermore, carthage is home of the biggest church (notre dame de carthage) and mosque (odeon mosque) and even synagogue in tunisia.
Rome was too large to take anyway, both Hannibal and Pyhhrus knew that. And their incredible will to fight and manpower made them very difficult to conquer. Add to that their policy in keeping their allies and Rome was almost unbeatable. You could win a battle, but after the conquest of Magna Graeca... Rome was almost unstoppable- only a united and determined Kart- Hadast could have.
@cahtush Punic is the same given to the people that live in Carthage , Northern Africa (modern Tunisia) . The punic culure is a derivation of the phoenician one but mixed with some native elements (such as the berber culture).
The people of Lebanon were the Phoenicians , actully Carthage was built by Phonieicians .but Carthage was independant from Phoenicia.

The carthage of hannibal barca was burned and it's citizens sold into slavery. What remains today is the land inhabited by muslims.
lowkick22 3 years ago 14
But it's no longer dust anymore that's the point, later Romans were forced to rebuild the city to create a port in the region.

if the senate in carthage sent more troops to hannibal, Hannibal would have won the war and destruyed rome
sofienmessaoud 4 years ago 6
Actually, Hannibal lost most of his siege weapons while he was crossing the alps, so what he really needed were siege weapons.
We can see that his army could destroy the Roman's, but with no siege weaponry, he would have no hope of capturing any cities.

@Elany13 yes but you call the greeks greek even if they live in krim, sicily or anatolia
cahtush 2 years ago
@cahtush : no but its different
Carthaginian people are called Punic!
not Phoenicians..They did actually descended from Phoenicians , but then they envolved in their own culture .
Elany13 2 years ago
@Elany: so probibly the greeks did too in some places. you can probibly call carthageinians boath tunisians or lebanese whatever
cahtush 2 years ago
neither , carthage is the history of tunisia not lebanon , lebanon's history would be phoenicia...both are connected , but its like USA /Uk...
