  • I am a specialist in the army. Have deployed twice and take it from me. The war in Iraq is bull. I will always give Lt. Watada my respect and salute. He is the prime example of BRAVERY. One of the army 7 values. I salute you Sir.

  • When he joined he was fooled as many of us were by government lies. The war IS illegal and I support him and the constitution. If you do'nt you are a war criminal. He should be vindicated!!!The bush administration should be charged with treason and numerous war crimes! Such ignorance of the American people is baffeling to me. My only possible Understanding of that ignorance is the fear the 911 attack istilled in the people blinded them.Iraq ha d nothing to do with 911. WAKE UP AMERICA!

  • He doesn't agree with the war, yet he joins up. Good Idea. And for the rest of you who agree with him for refusing to go to Iraq, what you are saying is that the rest of the U.S. Forces can use that excuse and leave. That would leave Iraq in a worse state than it already is. Another Good Idea!

  • Yes! That is exactly what I am saying.

  • I have nothing but contempt for Watada. He joined while the 2003 war was well underway, and he knew perfectly well what military service involved. The war violates no laws and was supported by Congress. At the very least he should be dismissed and imprisoned.

  • Our unwarranted invasion of Iraq violated international law. The incompetent congress supported it based on the lies they were told. Watada will be acquitted if he is ever tried again.

  • The invasion of Iraq was warranted from the time Hussein violated the terms of the 1991 cease-fire. That fact alone gave us the right to invade.

  • TakeThatHill is just one of the ignorant and naive people in the country and has been decieved. VINDICATE LT. WATADA

  • what's up with TAKETHATHILL and his sex change operation comment over and over... it seems he want one.. Watada FTW!!

  • LT Watada is doing his sworn duty as an officer, refusing illegal orders and protecting his troops' bodies, psyches, and lives. Iraq Veterans Against the War, Veterans for Peace, veterans and current military from WWII to the present know LT Watada has a backbone of steel. He's fighting to care for the Constitution, Nuremberg, and the troops he swore to care for. All the stupid comments in this thread display just how ignorant their writers are of military law and real courage.

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • RrrrrrrrrrrrrRRREDNECK! woop woop woop!

  • Ehren Watada is a true american hero. Thank you!

  • Darwin would have to rethink himself after seeing this coward.....4.2 million years of human Evolution and this pussy is what we end up with? You don't sacrifice shit Watada you fucking coward, you play media games while real soldiers like us do our duty

in Iraq. Put a gun in your mouth before you damage our gene pool you fucking faggot coward.

  • as charming as ussual royak! you are a true american hero i guess.. carry on with the great job ... and please get killed soon.

  • Look at the language this person uses. He is clearly not thinking things thoroughly enough and is blinded by the lies that he's been told. Those who participate in the military are being turned decisively into people whom police for the state. No questions asked huh? You'll just follow orders? They did that in Nazi Germany in 1942 when they were killing millions of jews in concentration camps. Start thinking for yourself royak.

  • I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're one of the 50% mentioned that's completely ignorant to the actual goings on of the U.S. government. Don't make yourself look any worse than you've already proven yourself to be, royak.

  • How the fuck did this lady boy Watada even get accepted in the service. Punk ass butter bar bitch.

  • stfu. All these people who are complaining about Watada who are not in the Army should get drafted so they could see what it's like.

  • Most of the people complaining about Watada most vigorously are veterans like myself.

  • Ah yes, You know Tony this person is correct, 70% of Americans MUST be wacko's..Its ALL us ;) A whimp indeed, It takes NO balls to stand against orders, to stand against a president..Yep, NONE at all. Hmm, lets see you spend a week in a jail for the military, you'ld piss your pants crying for your mommy!

  • Do I detect sarcasm? ;o) I've never been more proud to be a nut!

  • And... if you actually watched the video that I responded to you will hear Lt. Watada talk about his willingness to go to jail v. being complicit in a criminal war. George Bush is the war criminal who needs to take his medicine. Your inane statements reveal your lack of understanding of what America is all about.

  • It already has worked--it is the truth after all. The trial ended with a mistrial with many of the prosecution witnesses making statements that helped Watada. The government that they were really trying the war not Watada.

  • Agree!

  • You and Lt. Watada have my complete support, he's doing what every true patriot should do.

  • Thanks. How about making a response video?

  • Watada is a CNUT and deserves the maximum penalties for his crime.

  • Participating in an illegal war is a crime. Lt. Watada refused to follow an unlawful order--which is his sworn duty as a commisioned officer in the U.S. Army. Thank you for your support.

  • He joined the army after the war started and he was ordered to be deployed.

The order to be deployed isn't illegal in military law for no other laws military laws were violated by the order.

An example of an illegal order would be to engage in a rape of a local civilian. That would likely violate another law and the order would thus be illegal. As a result the ordered soldier can disobey the order.

  • The war didn't start--We started it. We agressively invaded a sovereign nation that was not a threat to us--I won't waste time listing all the lies that were used to get the sheep to fall into step--Under international law that is illegal. Remember Nuremberg? Read the writings of the Project for a New American Century PNAC to learn about the motivations for this war. Thank you for your support.

  • He joined after we invaded the Iraqis. How about that? A game of semantics cant be played with that comment.

Re the second point. That or Bush and the CIA are just a load of bloody incompetents (which is very likely considering that we are discussing the state).

And I know of PNAC (thanks to a conspiracy theorist friend of mine).

  • True. But that doesn't change the fact that the war in Iraq is illegal. He has no problem with going to fight in Afghanistan.

  • It wasn't illegal. When it comes to international law our causus belli was Iraq's violations of the peace that they signed.

  • CORRECT SPELLING= casus belli

    Please list the violations.

  • Two easy ones. Firing on American and British aircraft is generally considered an act of war.

Throwing the UN weapons inspectors out which was the trigger for Clinton's attack on the state.

Oh, t(h)anks for the spelling correction.

  • Flying military aircraft over a sovereign nation is also an act of war. The UN weapons inspectors were pulled out by the UN/USA.

  • Some would say that it was authorized by Resolution 688 and that it was surely a humanitarian act.

As regards the 1998 crisis, Saddam refused to cooperate with the weapons inspectors on Oct 31 1998 and on December 19th of that year the Iraqis said that UNSCOM's mission was "over", yes?

  • great video well done

  • Thanks. Pass it on.
