Thanks - a key component in being a confident player is clearly knowing/understanding what you did wrong and thats not based on where the ball ends up, its based on what you did with your feet and body.
Knowing what to do is less than half of what it takes to be your very best.
And yes, my stick figures suck! Im bad enough drawing with a pencil and paper, but drawing with a mouse YIKES!
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated! - Agreed, there are many STYLES of playing and defensive positioning is only 1 part of the game. The challenge is that most players do not have a solid foundation re beach vb fundamentals so they rely on whatever indoor habits they have and end up stuck at a certain level of play. (Have you ever noticed how many frustrated players are playing?) Correct foot positioning/movement, quickness and ball control can be learned, that's what we are here to do!
Thanks! Being a bottom feeder on the AVP for 5-7 years I lost far more than I won!
Whether it was Von Hagen, Menges, Smith, Stoklos, Kiraly, Steffes, Stevenson, Hanley, etc, etc I took my lumps on a daily basis for many, many years! I am very thankful for that time because it taught me what not to do and forced me to learn what to do and HOW to do it so I could consistently compete. That why U of Beach VB started, to teach players not only what to do, but HOW to consistently do it.
You are correct, and there would be more or equal positive critical aspects compared to negative. Maybe add skill levels progressively? Just a suggestion. 5* anyways
Thanks- will do - what's interesting is the errors that occur at the higher level are the same sort of things but they happen much quicker and are more subtle.
I use the fact that i played at the pier as an excuse for my bad attitudes, not something i'm proud of - thanks for bringing it up...;>)

i appreciate how most of your videos show what NOT to do
everyone always drones in how to play but usually fails to point out what doesnt work and why
love the stick figure at 2:48 btw
