  • I think this is for the iPhone 2G and the iPod touches, not for the later iPhone devices which already have the GPS technology built in. It must be for apps like TomTom to work on older iPhones and the iPod touches. Either that or you hate the performance of the GPS for the iPhone 3G and want a replacement.

  • its fake.. don't you guys notice? they are just trying to make a scene.... many do that..

  • i swear my iPhone 3GS can do all this allredy

  • @AMFxCful Yes, the iPhone 3G[s] has GPS built-in so you won't need the iGPS360 module unless your are unhappy with the performance of the built-in GPS.

  • @pmgriphone nope it works great

  • What is the name of the software you're using, especially to see the satellites

  • That software was written for firmware 1.1.x and has not been ported to firmware 3.x and as such is not available currently.

  • IPHONE HAS A GPS BUILT IN DOSEN'T IT?

  • 3Gs Only

  • i think 3G has one. i use gps all the time on my iphone 3G

  • Comment removed

  • yes it dose talk, like any other gps voice guided turn by turn.

It dose on my iphone 3g

  • @csabi72 ITS FOR IPOD TOUCH USER OR HIGH END GPS USER (COZ THE GPS IN IPHONE IS NOT GOOD)

  • @csabi72 yeah iPhone 3G and + has a GPS but iPhone 2G does not have GPS ...

  • In uk it costs 349£

  • ahahahahahahahhahaahhah you suck

  • That's a good price if it is without contract.

  • can you tell me how much iphone cust cuz iwant to buy one please reply

  • An iPhone or the iGPS360 module? The iGPS360 module is $75.

  • my quastion is how much iphone cust

  • iPhone costs $199 with 2 year AT&T contract here in US. You can also look on eBay.

  • do you know in my country iphone cust 430$

  • the guy just said it was 199dollars with contract at at&t and in uk it costs 349pounds

  • The only way for iPhone 2G to sync with bluetooth gps receivers is opening the firmware platform... "jailbreak". Where will iPhone venture without 3rd party apps? I have a driver without GPS installed in the vehicle. So, therefore, my two year contract agreement with AT&T makes perfect sen$e to accessorize with simply adding a bluetooth GPS receiver. My poor luck blocks with compatibility for windows mobile. Researching more...

  • Where can u buy the thing that goes into the bottom of the phone from in the uk??

  • Do a google search for iGPS360 Orange Gadgets

  • I have this module and it works great!! Thanks and congrats for this awesome product!

  • Haha... German aksent???

  • no german accent is even worse :D

I think he's polish or russian or something like that. I'm german and germans don't speak like that

  • Nope, this guy is Dutch, so he basically is your neigbour on the other side. As being Dutch myself, I must say his accent doesn't sound really Dutch though...

To the poster: Cool stuff, and nice blog! Ga zo door!

  • hij klinkt idd niet heel nederlands, eerder duits maar tog merk je dat hij nederlands is:P

  • pretty sure he's french canadian and I want this for my iphone!

  • Have you ever seen some palm trees in Canada? Just from that I know he is not french canadian.... Cause here in Quebec , snow and palm trees don't mix hahahahahahahha.

  • I live in quebeq and we have palm trees in our street..

    so wtf?

  • iphone 3g is very super, I want to have it, but if I consider the internet cost for every month, I am hesitanting, we must know the cost of the phone is not high, but the internet fee is high, if we can keep it for 2 years, we must pay much fee, so maybe I should buy the cheap one, I searched this site: chinawind08. com, maybe all friend should have a look too.

  • hey

Do you need internet to use the gps application ?

  • yea, is it REAL gps?

  • i think it is. that's what the navigator for: to pinpoint the position from the satellite.

  • yes it had link with 9 different satelites during the video.

  • @MattGerm3 i use tomtom and it doesnt use any data

  • U could of showed us if it could speak to you and give u directions??

  • apple sdk license forbids live gps tracking with directions. hence, why google maps can not tell the driver the next turn or if he missed a turn or if he made a wrong turn.

and so far there seems to be no developer who is willing to hack the iphone 3g.

  • Googlemaps can show you the route and track your vehicle along that route in real time. If you miss a turn it will show your deviation from the chosen route. It's down to you to get back on route. If you're brain dead I guess turn by turn voice instruction is important as well as recalculations of the original route due to your complete lack of ability to follow a blue line on a screen :D

  • LOL

    it cannt.

it can only display a dot. one for current location and one for destination.

do some homework before speaking, ignorant SOB. everyone who has a iphone knows this. any developer for the apple sdk knows this.

  • technogearhead, you do some homework. If you tell the maps application where you want to go, it does show the blue line and it recalculates if you miss it. Take that SOB.

  • @ylyorr1

You are obviously a moron, so I will not bother debating this.

  • do u live in a car lol

  • ur gay

  • lol lol lol stupid assess

  • cool how do I get this adapter and soft?

  • If you really think it is fake, visit the website mentioned on the top right of the screen near the subscribe button for more details.

    PmgR

  • lol dude so do you even own an iphone

  • yes but that one is a fake and i can prove it so send me a personal comment and i will

  • That's awesome! Does this app work on a 3G?

  • You get a Blueberry >>>Nerd!!!

    You get an Iphone 3g>>>Preppy!!!

Do not tell me I am a nerd.

  • nerd

  • I am sooo preppy :D

  • haha same here :D *high five*

  • yo are u persian lol

  • just a crap piece of shit without a gps

  • but compass can't work while gps isn't moving..

  • any phone can be unlocked, even the 3G.

The sidekick and several other phones can be unlocked. Unfortunately phones from sprint are useless if unlocked because they don't have a slot for a SIM card.

  • not a very user friendly GPS, with all the coordinates and stuff, more of a compass.

  • you idiot. He showed you the navigator at the end.

  • were do i get the chip ?

  • Is it possible to buy the chip u plug into the iphone, and if, where ? Looks cool. I don't want to buy the iPhone 3G, since i bought the "old one" a couple months before the iPhone 3G was published:D

  • Then you are eligible for a free upgrade at your local at&t store!

  • same thing man just bought it recently lets hope the 3g isnt that better

  • You idiots, have any of you actually owned a GPS Unit? That actually is a GPS, what you see that shows the maps and stuff is actually a routing software. GPS just pinpoints your position using satellites above us using triangulation. GPS itself is not turn by turn direction you idiots.

  • t moble? why does it say t mobele for the service?

  • All phones can be unlocked and used with a different service if you have the passcode.

    The iPhone is no different.

  • not the 3g

  • the iphone 3G is out so u dont need to hack the first one (Its finnaly here, the first phone to beat the iphone, surfs the web and downloads date twice as fast, for half the price, introduceing the NEW iPhone,,,,,,,, 3G) daddadadadadadadads APPLE SUCKS

    LOLOLOLOLLOOLOLOL whoevr was

  • Thats a compass! not a gps!

    lol! nice french accent

  • what??????????????????????????

  • (i'm no pro but -->) Isn't this sdk distribution pointless because can't users just copy the code by opening the program in textpad/xcode or watever its called and compile a paid for program themselves?

  • I think it works as an aircraft VOR: the compass "crown" shows your actual direction, and the center arrow shows the direction of the next waypoint set

  • With the new iPhone you could download only the software (possibly at the Apps Store), because the receiver is built in

  • yjays the old iphone

  • good work!!!

  • I was under the impression that the iphone already had a gps?

  • yes, the new iphone does, IPHONE 3G. But the one in the video is the IPHONE version 1 with a GPS module added

  • um dumbass much?

he never said it was the new one.

he added a GPS app and card, which is commected to the bottom, unless you are blind or something?

  • stupid people everywhere

  • no kidding

  • That obviously.

    1. Did you not notice the GPS bored sticking out of the phone.

    2. he never said it was

    3. The video was added in April

  • so computers have motherboreds?

  • responding to another comment who thought that was the iPhone 3G.

  • i know man.

  • Very understandable and specific video! Thanks for the upload, Dude!

  • hahahhaha nice one:D

  • @pmgriphone

Thanks for your information about the usb port.

  • @Martin

    BLABLABLA

  • haha... i know where you live now

  • No, you do not know if I dont want it.

3G does not show outward its wherebout in my residence. Its gps progged for privacy.

    Its built in.

  • For more information, visit the website mentioned under the video description on the right top of this page.

  • There is a USB port on the module which allows you to charge at the same time as using the module.

  • That's great and all, but consuming the data/power port is a major downside to this receiver. GPS isn't friendly to batteries so while your power port is being used you won't be able to feed it power.

  • That's cool.

You should put plastic covers on those and include a port protector and sell them for mad money on eBay lol.. People would seriously buy them like crazy.

  • Just get a decent phone with integrated gps!! I have one, works with its own software, google maps and microsoft maps too.

  • what kind of phone is it man?

  • its the apple iPhone

  • It's a HTC touch cruise, Windows 6.0. But already left behind, check out the htc diamond coming out in June. I still love my phone though, it's sad to say but it has changed my life.

  • cool thanks, ill check it out! I've heard of them alright! Some twat thought i was askin what phone was in the video, obvo an iphone!

  • No need to call him a twat, sometimes comments appear on the front page alone.

  • Nice but what about charging the iphone when your on your way??

  • That's awesome, you could make a couple of bucks making those and selling them online. I would buy one :)

  • Then get sued...yay!

  • You could slap a new plastic casing on it, no one would know the difference :D

  • Apple would..anything that uses the connector needs to be approved by Apple

  • Hehe I was being sarcastic, although I don't think you have to get something approved by Apple to sell it, I don't think the TouchMods iPod mics were approved.

    Maybe your right though.

  • Gomite dropped the serial port because Apple has told us that using the connector without being in the Made for Ipod program will get you sued. The serial port is not enabled on a non-hacked iphone.

  • do u need a wifi network to do this?

  • No, I don't see why.

  • awesome!

  • That's pretty awesome, all it needs is debugging and an aesthetically pleasing case and you're in business!

  • yeh it does need touching up a little but

    maybe a diff colour

  • how do i get that gps?
