i think manson is more like bowie more so then cooper with the fact he goes into more experimental sounds and songs with bizarre lyrics similar to bowie's. the only reason i think people compare the 2 is because of how manson looked in the mid 90's when he broke through and how he was at first, in the eyes of america "shocking".

well i wasnt old enough to attend his early and mid 90's concerts, but i know the abortion thing with the child that came out was a T.V. being wrapped in a nazi flag, and that was to symbolize how most children were born into media controlled environments, or something along those lines. and i never cared much for religion so the bible tearing never bothered me, i guess it all depends on how serious you take his imagery and art.

I think it's less that he goes to far with it and more that he just does it poorly. He could do the exact same stage show as Alice and it wouldn't work as well. He tries way too hard and it just comes out hokey.

The best show he ever made. Very theatrical show. This show put him him back in the spotlights as a one man performer.
