This is coming from a guy that put a provision in the bill which basically is racist.. We need an "office of minority health" according to this guy. I didnt get the message that black people and other minorities are biologically different than white people.
So the person that got in with chicago style pay-offs wants to complain about people expressing disagreement with the majority? And one question - has the government ever compelled adults to buy anything before regardless of whther they wanted it or not? Car insurance is required IF I want to own a car. But not if I want to rent a car or drive someone else's car so it is not analagous. Bottom line - sad state we are in and cross a line for the gov't to require this.
Millions of Illinois citizens (we Republicans) have no representation in the Senate and this guy who was appointed by our corrupt Democrat Governor (after a payoff) destroys a Christmas classic with his contempt for the American people who don't agree with him.
i love senator Burris's rhymes. he should be a rapper!! ok so though it was funny. i think the story was a little weird. lol. i want to know what president obama had to say!
The health care industry has spent $800 million dollars lobbying mostly against health care reform. The Democrats are the party of the PEOPLE. You can't buy our vote. We will tell the insurance companies what, if anything, is a pre-condition. They have the money, we have the vote, YAY for America.
@Codger45caliber How is this an expansion of government? It's an expansion of the private health care industry, you fool. And 2/3rds of the American people want a government run "OPTION", thats why nobody likes this bill, because it has none.
Burris is a really good man and has worked hard all his life to represent working people. Shame the GOP retards on here can do nothing but quibble. You guys should concern yourselves with allowing the John Birch Society back into your dying party -- something William F. Buckley railed against. Tea Bagging jesters. lol

I'm so glad that he was appointed to take Obama's Senate seat, not that position has someone with more experience than the President and he does this?
Sigh -- if only the Democrats were supporting a real Democratic health reform bill instead of a watered-down Republican bill that, nonetheless, even the Republicans won't vote for ...
If it were really a Democratic health reform bill Burris' poetic efforts would have deeper meaning ...
Are you guys kidding me?!? How can everyone not love this?!?
This man is an amazing politician, and it doesn't matter if his poetry is sub-par. If you realized what he did there, you would be cheering by the end of it. I hope Senator Burris get's a huge inflood of cash to his campaign by the Progressives in this country.
If America rewards the obstructionists for watering down, or obstructing this bill in 2010, by either not voting, or voting for more obstructionists-I am going to have very little sympathy & patience left for the bitching & moaning of the American people.
Seriously, it might be time to take some responsibility ourselves for how much our government sucks. I still believe that it is US who put these people in office, and we keep rewarding them for the wrong behavior. Vote smart, not cynically.
Who could have guesed that the coruptly "elected" Burris would be one of the few persons that stand firm for healthcare reform. Probably because he has nothing to lose and does not have to be a bitch for the insurance industry like all the others. Ironic. B.t.w. It's not a limerick but a spoof of a very old christmas story. (please don't start about my language mistakes I am not a native speaker) I wish all americans happy holydays and much wisdom when dealing with this fake reform bill.
touche I suppose an lol or LMAO would have sufficed but I decided on repeated laughter, I figured it was a more personal touch. evidently it wasn't personal enough, or perhaps it was too personal.

Any Mandatory Health Care that makes us buy Insurance is a joke
We need a real Health Care that eliminates the Health Insurance companies

It's not a limerick; it's a nice parody of "A Visit from St. Nick" a.k.a. "The Night Before Christmas". Who writes these titles????
But it was a fun bit of work. Kudos to this staff! Burris is far from my favorite guy but he delivered this in good humor, which we need more of!

What competition is he speaking of? There is no competition against the Health Insurance Industry in this bill.

it's not a limerick at all, it's a rendering on the lines of the night before Christmas.
this is a limerick:
A Warmer and Skeptic did spar
o'er the Mann-made Gore-ian farce:
The leak was insulted
that the Skeptic consulted,
Yet the Warmer fell flat on his arse!
also, limericks cost less than silly graphics and hour long antics, dear righties. in fact they're free.
the lot of these clowns are useless anyway, both sides of the aisle.

It's fine to voice that opinion as long as you have a legitimate reason for your position.
taxpayer funds -> limerick -> corrupt
...is *not* legitimate reasoning in any sense.

Corrupt for his associations and general personal demeanor. Tax payer funds > limerick > waste of time.
