"thrashed" is a bit generous. I do remember beating The Dee courtesy of a Jocky Scott O.G. @ Gayfield around about 1977 also taking full points at Dens shortly after. We left the ground with our scarves hidden below our jerseys to avoid "a good kicking"- Happy days!
it was at Gayfield which is still the finest stadium in the world. Fans get close to the action all around the ground. The ground has held over 13,000 but recent health and safety fascism has reduced this to under 5,000 capacity
i watched in vain for the Arbroath consolation goal. Look forward to seeing clips of similar games where we thrashed Dundee
Looks like a good crowd and a good atmosphere and not a steward in sight. I wonder what kind of a crowd a game between Arbroath and Dundee would get now.
As they'd charge you about £20 and throw you out for standing up or cheering I suspect not a very big one.
maybe at dens park, but not at gayfield - it's mostly terracing there :P
it does look like a fantastic crowd, though, and i doubt we'd see anything like it these days. aberdeen went to gayfield in the cup a year or two ago, there might be a clip floating about somewhere if you want to see what gayfield is like these days with an above average crowd (the camera would be on the opposite side from this clip, though).
In the days when even small scottish grounds got big crowds.

Nice Cruijff-esque turn by the man in the build-up to the second goal there.
