i swear i remeber seeing the 1st trailer wen i was at the movies n it seemed like a comedy at 1st but then took a drastic turn lol but still one of my favoirte movies i love these unsolved crime like zodiac unabomber dp cooper n so on
@adhdboy699 i didn't mean unsovled but like famous cases which alot of them are unsolved but yea i know the unabomber is a solved case but it took a long time n had many ups n downs

How did Robert Downey Jr. get in this one? Why is he wearing a goatee that makes it look like he came off the set of "Iron Man"? Another sign that the movies are in trouble.
How did Robert Downey Jr. get in this one? Why is he wearing a goatee that makes it look like he came off the set of "Iron Man"? Another sign that the movies are in trouble.
i like the way this movie was presented. The late 60s through the 70s were dark times in this country, not only with this killer but with the Vietnam war, Cold war, and space race.
this movie was real creepy, and i would say historical. it's worth watching, it really is.

Creepy but interesting movie. I'm looking forward to watching this with my kids someday. I love the acting and the mysteriousness of the detective work... it was obvious that the killer was Arthur Leigh Allen.
This is a great movie. It gives me the chills that the zodiac killer has never been caught or identified althoug h a lot of people think it is Jack Terrance
@NightwakeVirus Funny you mention that because one of Zodiac's last message was that he expected a movie about him, and he wondered who was going to play him.
what i find funny is that we are all sick crazy people, a real life serial gets a movie made, and all the fame he always wanted, we gave him what he wanted because people love this kind of shit, what makes you think your more normal than the guy right next to you, we each day dream of a world we will never live so we fucking fake it, and chose to live the dream either way, the zodiac had a fucked up life growing up, but dont we all, why are we so fucked up, can you answer that
I don't like the music in this trailer, it projects the film as upbeat or at least having upbeat undertones, which it doesn't. A nice Dark Fincher film
@danltrent i was hoping to enjoy this movie, but when it was on TV the other night I had to change the station because the audio was so BAD - all those damn phones ringing during dialogue, couldn't hear a thing in many of the scenes!
Everyone is going to have a different opinion of good art. TDK, Inception, Fight Club, and Seven are all among my favorite movies. They are good in different ways and at different levels. The only Tarantino movie I could put even close to their level is Inglourious Basterds, which I really enjoyed for its sense of cinematic nostalgia.
I think the movie is a little bit underrated: 7.8 on the IMDb, not even an oscar nomination... Fincher as director, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo... I don't know, maybe it's only me, but I think it deserves to be on the "top 250" list.
Totally agree. This movie was snubbed by the academy. Gyllenhal, Downey jr, and Ruffalo are all vastly underrated actors who all should have been nominated for their work in this movie. Gyllenhaal and Ruffalo have only one nomination to date and Downey has 2. Fincher should have been nominated for best director and best picture and best cinematography. And this movie deserves at least an 8 on IMDb.
@PhoenixTomislav I couldn't agree with you more. I actually liked this movie just as much if not more than 7 and the movie 7 is on imdb's top 250. This and 7 are my favorite Fincher movies. Social Network and Fight Club werre great too no doubt but I really enjoyed this one. Actually I think I put this above 7 only for 1 reason though it's because it's true. In fact though most of this movie is pretty darn accurate not 100% off course but it's more accurate than most hollywood "true" story films
@1966Zodiac Yes, Zodiac and 7 were both great. Zodiac - It just has that something in it, was interesting to watch, wanna see what'll happen next, a bit mysterious and scary at the moments, and how Gyllenhaal gone nuts with investigation about the killer... Fight Club great yes, but not as much as these. And Social Network, well I really liked it, and I can say one of my favorites, it's just my personal opinion, cause Mark (in the movie) kinda reminds me on myself... and the score was good too.
@PhoenixTomislav Yeah I really enjoyed the Social Network unfortunately though it was my least favorite david fincher movie out of all the ones I've seen(zodiac,7, fight club, and social network). As for the music yeah it was good but I was kind of upset that the music from Social Network won the Oscar over Inception. I though Inceptions music was easily better in my opinion(I also liked the movie Inception better than it too just a tad bit though).
@1966Zodiac Well, I wasn't. Inception was brilliant movie, no doubts, I like it a lot, watched it twice. Except well known Leo, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy were good as well in the movie. And I really ejoyed watching it. The entire soundtrack was good also. Not just the main theme. But I still preffer 'Social' up to Inception. As the movie and the score, both. Probably cause it is more dramatic, and based on a true story plus Jesse has some interesting voice... :p
@PhoenixTomislav As for The Social Network's main character Mark. I hope you're not too much like him because the movie kind of portrayed him as a very semi-douche. Not a huge one where you want to punch him just a little bit of one you know what I mean. Good movie though and I use facebook alot.
@1966Zodiac Yeah, I know he's a bit douche, I was actually cheering for the twins, and felt sorry for his co-founder... But we don't know what actually happened so I'm not gonna judge anyone, considering only the movie Mark's a bad guy in the whole story. He's a bit arogant in the movie (trial scenes). That's how I am sometimes, many times people told me I stepped over the line with my jokes and humor. And my favorite scene is the last one. That's where I mosty found myself.. sad but, true :p
its a paradoxon that those realy good movies are not as sucessfull as this mainstream action or comedy shit like "wedding crashers", if you compare the gross avenue of 285 mio with the 85 mio of zodiac. Maybe "Zodiac" is to special to awake the interest of a big audience.
David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. After brilliant Seven, Alien 3, Fight Club and Panic Room I had to watch Zodiac too. It was real challenge cause the story is based on true events. The whole film was good but still not what I'd expect. The atmos[here wasn't as scary/thrilling as it was in The Silence of the Lambs, Copycat, Seven or even The Zodiac (version 2005 with Justin Chambers & Robin Tunney). Anyway Mark Ruffalo showed brilliant acting. Gyllenhaal & Downey Jr. were great too
The creepiest, scariest, most disturbing scene in the whole movie for me is the murder beside the lake with the couple. It seemed so real and brutal that i get really angry thinking that somebody actually did that. What a true piece of shit the zodiac was.
@0250584 what if zodiac himself saw it in the theater? i mean.. murders accured in late 60s early 70s.. he never got cought.. he could still be fucking alive.
Im confused at the part of this trailer when it plays energetic,"happy" music when this film has to do with a cerial killer who massacre's random people just for his own enjoyment. Its sort of like if there was a movie on the bombing in the Russian airport in Moscow the editors would add dancing music, it just doesnt make sense.
@CTR8008 Personally I think that the contrast between the music and the images was very effective. I mean, it added energy. Also, the vast majority of the music in the movie is upbeat 70s rock, and I think that they were doing a good job of establishing the setting in the trailer by using such music. I mean, sure, they could have just started playing the usually scary horror flick music, but that would have just made it LESS scary.
This movie is 100X scarier than any of the bullshit horror films that come out nowadays. too bad most modern day horror filmmakers have not learned that guts don't make a film scary. Psychological terror does.
you know what's really great about this film? yes its scary, yes its real, yes its interesting, but after watching it you feel like you can solve the case. you feel like anyone can find out who it was. almost like you feel obligated.
I watched this movie last night. Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo were great. The scenes in the middle-ish/end, like the scene in the basement were the best. It was so intense and it left me scared for my life! :O Good movie!
okay so Arthur Allen Leigh, say he wasn't the real Zodiac killer, DNA didn't match, handwriting didn't match but he does however say... "If I was the real Zodiac, I certainly wouldn't tell you." ...now then. How many of us, out of just the sincerest desire to creep some fed (or state) pigs out, to brag about it to our friends, would go, in his position, and say something like that? "Oh I'm not the Zodiac killer, but if I was I certainly wouldn't tell you!"
@acidfriend47 he's probably still out there... though I think he has lost his mind or smth, given the age. either that, or he's dead. anyway, if he's alive, it's hard to believe that he hasn't at least heard about the movie. his case is still open, up to this day...
@tomokogirl2000 I believe there is a large amount of evidence out there that points towards Arthur Leigh Allen as the Zodiac. If they are true, he is long dead.
yer his step son said he found all this stuff but it belived there might be more of them i heard of this other killer who i thought was the zodiac killer i heard he ended up killing himself when he was traped by the police but he did it in a way so he would live 15 minutes longer so he wrote a letter so the police thought this guy was just an other victim i dont know how they figuerd out it was him thoe
My doubt is...in the end of the movie they say Allen died...and from that date the anonymous weekly calls to Graysmith stopped. Why keep calling Graysmith? To keep him scared? I think he was scared enough after the basement scene...but he didn´t stop anyway. And Zodiac (Allen?), clever how he was would be fool if he killed Graysmith because he just would put everyone solving another murder and probably they will end up in his house an going to the court sooner...
put it this way if it had been 1 of my family members an u wrote a sick comments like this i would hunt you down an gut you like a pig that you are you FREAK !
@xorganizationxvx coolies, youre the zodiac! get the hell out of youtube. i cant believe that you would want to pretend to be that pathetic excuse of a man. you should burn in hell.
@sethvicious I would have to disagree with that. They're both great directors but I personally like Christopher Nolan better but hey I'm a HUGE!! Zodiac fan(notice my username). Fight Club,Seven, and Social Network were also pretty good but I have to say Christopher Nolan is a mere genius cause of Dark Knight,Inception, and Memento so I like him better. However,I think that you could say that David Fincher makes Quentin Tarantino look like an amateur I'd agree with that.
@1966Zodiac Meh. To each his own I guess, but to say that Fincher makes Tarantino look like an amateur is just... unbelievable. They're both phenomenal directors with differing styles. I love Christopher Nolan as well, but I definitely don't think that any of Nolan's works are as good as Fight Club.
Hello, my family and I have begun a website about the zodiac that you will more then likely find quite interesting please check it out: zodiackiller-revealed
I dig this movie alot and really don't know why. I just feel Fincher made this movie for me.Excellent movie when this came out I wanted to see 300 but it was sold out so I saw Zodiac instead.Man I liked 300 but he'll Zodiac was the truth.
If you read Zodiac Unmasked it tells you everything. They had a lot of evidence leading to Allen such as all the same guns used in the Zodiac killings found in Allens house, he taunted them, gave them hints and still outsmarted them in everyway like playing a game and wrote in a letter that humans are the most dangerous game, Allen said in an interview that he liked to read the book the dangerous game a lot and further evidence saying he knew everyone the zodiac murdered
all your facts is in the movie dude. And leigh allen didn't know everyone, just some of yh victims. But you are right about the book, he liked reading it. It was hes favourit book at high scool. He also had a watch whit the name zodiac. my fathers uncel was an expert at the zodiac. I have red hes diary.
This by far the best ever Fincher movie! It's a masterpiece.

you know what's really great about this film? yes its scary, yes its real, yes its interesting, but after watching it you feel like you can solve the case. you feel like anyone can find out who it was. almost like you feel obligated.

this movie was soo creepy but good

I watched this movie last night. Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo were great. The scenes in the middle-ish/end, like the scene in the basement were the best. It was so intense and it left me scared for my life! :O Good movie!

Robert Graysmith is The Zodiac
freestylefunk 1 year ago
okay so Arthur Allen Leigh, say he wasn't the real Zodiac killer, DNA didn't match, handwriting didn't match but he does however say...

He the real Zodiac killer dead? If he is I wonder if he watched the movie they made about him..
acidfriend47 1 year ago
@acidfriend47 he's probably still out there... though I think he has lost his mind or smth, given the age. either that, or he's dead. anyway, if he's alive, it's hard to believe that he hasn't at least heard about the movie. his case is still open, up to this day...
tomokogirl2000 1 year ago
@tomokogirl2000 I believe there is a large amount of evidence out there that points towards Arthur Leigh Allen as the Zodiac. If they are true, he is long dead.
NShark8 1 year ago
yer his step son said he found all this stuff but it belived there might be more of them i heard of this other killer who i thought was the zodiac killer i heard he ended up killing himself when he was traped by the police but he did it in a way so he would live 15 minutes longer so he wrote a letter so the police thought this guy was just an other victim i dont know how they figuerd out it was him thoe
jamespatrick15 1 year ago
My doubt is...in the end of the movie they say Allen died...and from that date the anonymous weekly calls to Graysmith stopped. Why keep calling Graysmith? To keep him scared? I think he was scared enough after the basement scene...but he didn´t stop anyway. And Zodiac (Allen?), clever how he was would be fool if he killed Graysmith because he just would put everyone solving another murder and probably they will end up in his house an going to the court sooner...

David Fincher makes Christopher Nolan look like an amateur
sethvicious 1 year ago 13
@sethvicious thats a bold statement
mitchqqqqqq 11 months ago
@sethvicious I would have to disagree with that. They're both great directors but I personally like Christopher Nolan better but hey I'm a HUGE!! Zodiac fan(notice my username). Fight Club,Seven, and Social Network were also pretty good but I have to say Christopher Nolan is a mere genius cause of Dark Knight,Inception, and Memento so I like him better. However,I think that you could say that David Fincher makes Quentin Tarantino look like an amateur I'd agree with that.
1966Zodiac 11 months ago
@1966Zodiac Meh. To each his own I guess, but to say that Fincher makes Tarantino look like an amateur is just... unbelievable. They're both phenomenal directors with differing styles. I love Christopher Nolan as well, but I definitely don't think that any of Nolan's works are as good as Fight Club.
weglarz 10 months ago
@sethvicious both are awesome! buh I think chris nolan is lil bit better.. but sure they both eat james cameron for breakfast!

If you read Zodiac Unmasked it tells you everything. They had a lot of evidence leading to Allen such as all the same guns used in the Zodiac killings found in Allens house, he taunted them, gave them hints and still outsmarted them in everyway like playing a game and wrote in a letter that humans are the most dangerous game, Allen said in an interview that he liked to read the book the dangerous game a lot and further evidence saying he knew everyone the zodiac murdered
gooooo2694 2 years ago
all your facts is in the movie dude. And leigh allen didn't know everyone, just some of yh victims. But you are right about the book, he liked reading it. It was hes favourit book at high scool. He also had a watch whit the name zodiac. my fathers uncel was an expert at the zodiac. I have red hes diary.

The saliva didn't have to match. He could easily have asked some nice person to lick the stamp because he was allergic to the glue or something.
The DNA match doesn't have to be the killer.
VideoKrytic 2 years ago 3
plus they only had partial DNA readings which wouldn
