These pedals are 1 word simply amazing. The one I got is truly out of this world and the best way to run it is into of course a naturally overdriven tube amp, but the REAL tone comes from backing off the guitar volume a little, it makes it a little brighter/punchy in the low end and sounds AMAZING!!!!! I love this thing with a Les Paul Standard and any driven tube amp with good speakers is going to kill. I run it through a little egnater Tweaker for bed room levels and I can nail any tone.

I purchased one and it's truely an amazing pedal ! Very distinct fuzz-tone without loosing the tone of the guitar. Except this week it started giving really dark tones, lost the amount of fuzz and volume. It has a new battery. I'm playing on a fender blues deluxe (guitar->fuzz face->amp, no other pedals). Through the FX-loop gives better tone but not like it's supposed to. Any thoughts/tips would be very much appreciated ! Thanks

@rioolput123 Send it back or take it to a tech. Prob. just a trasistor or something stupid went out. Not a big deal at all especially with handwired pedals. Call Dunlop or e-mail them, they will fix it or get you what you need I'm sure.

It seems to me that fuzzfaces always work better with stratocasters, either silicon or germanium. The single coils seem to give the best tone and sensitivity out of the fuzz.

@redukonio exactly... for me, this fuzz is way too smooth and gentle... and too expensive. I just bought an ehx fuzz which kicks out everything out the way. I recommend to play a tele with it.

I don't know if he's "better" than Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix or Jiminy Cricket.. it's utter foolishness to compare guitarists that way in the first place. What exactly is "better' or "worse" ? EVH was a mind-numbing shredder in 1980.. today every high school kid can play "Eruption" faster and cleaner. That's evolution - taking it to the next level. I will say this - Bonamassa is one of the best things to happen in Utica, NY. Tons of really good players come out of upstate NY though.
