  • But then again its sound fricken amazing on heavy metal

  • Personally I think the telecaster siuts blues, jazz not (really) Hard Rock

  • honest and an excellent review..thanks, you sold me... Road Trip!

  • Thanks for this awesome review man :D good shit! greets from germany

  • The main reason that this gets distortion like it does is because you have a sub par solid state modelling amp, the twangy single coils get better tone from a nice valve amp. Admitadely Jim Root uses a tele but he has EMGs and a high gain amp, that's what gets him the main part of his tone.

  • The tuning going off on a Strat isn't because of the 6 on a side tuners. It's because of the trem pulling up when you pull on another string.

  • Ordered :D

  • This guitar is SO kick ass!! I can buy it foor 50 bucks from a friend ^^ Should I do it?!

  • Thank you for tuning your guitar before you made a review video. A lot of people don't. Good review.

  • Which do you think sounds or feels better, the standard telecaster (mexican) or a Epiphone les paul? which is better for solos?

    EVERYONE feel free to answer.

  • @theclockworks2 I'm surprised no one has answered you on this. I would get a telecaster. Epiphones tend to feel cheap to me.

  • thats a sick tone for distortion and blues/country! awesome!

  • I'm sorry i dont feel like watching a 9 minute video, can you tell me if you like it or not? What are the plus? What are the downsides?

Can you play Hendrix stuff on it? etc.

    Thanks :p

  • u forgot john 5

  • Hah! I knew you had a Spider III before you even said it. The clicky pedal gave it away.

  • the only thing i hate about tele's is that ugly headstock

  • do you think this would be good for bands like oasis or arctic monkeys?

  • @sydfan14 Oasis and Arcitc Monkeys have both used Telecasters at some point

  • your distortion volume was really low, i couldnt tell much of a difference between the pickups,

  • Are you using a pedal or somthing?

  • I have the same poster in the background with the guitar chords, haha

  • what year is your guitar?

  • is that colour "lake placid blue"?

  • Sounds really good dude.

    You've convinced me.

  • great review man it was really helpful

  • I own a tele, a stratocaster and a Les Paul but for some reason my favorite is the telecaster, its sound is quite versatile and extremely comfortable.

  • @carlosroj u probaly dont own shit

  • is this guitar confortable? cuz it does not have any body contour

  • @djhonnym They don't normally have a body contour (though some less common versions do) but they are well balanced weight-wise i.e; not neck-heavy like a Gibson SG or downright heavy as a Les Paul.

  • Nice review. :) How would you recommend the guitar?

  • Great review!

  • only twang?? get a clue asshole.

  • American teles don't have a cutaway on the body like strats do. Also, unless you were playing a bad strat, tuning on a strat doesn't throw other strings out of tune. Teles are also great for blues.

  • @superlou1s ever tried tuning a strat with a floating bridge? that'll throw it off

  • @trogador95- I play a strat, and I never had any tuning problems. I know it can happen, but it doesn't ALWAYS happen, or else no one would use a floating bridge.

  • @superlou1s ive heard that its worth it to replace the nut whith that jeff beck designed one, thats sposed to keep it in tune

  • i was with you until you said "line 6" and "avenged sevenfold"

  • Well the tele is really made for clean tones and used mainly with just a LITTLE grit in it

  • The tele is so versatile, in my opinion it can do it all

  • @holysnikees98 yes they are. Very underrated guitars.

  • Sort of sad to see you using it for metal =[,But i guess its good u showed us the viewer all the different tones so all good =]

  • i envy your amp

  • the teles are the best guitars around. anybody should know that.

  • even though jim root uses a fender he has emg pickups which would make it sound pretty good for a fender guitar

  • slipknots guitarist uses seymour duncan blackouts

  • hey man,how much does this guitar weight (kg)?

do u know if it's heavier than the american??

  • for distortion, what would be better this or a mexican strat

  • this. i have a mexican strat. i went to my local guitar shop because it sounds PUSSY, but he said thats just how strats are. so im guessing this would be better(Y)

  • Thanks for the laugh bro, but seriously, l2guitar before you say something like that.

  • @baraka099 depends on what kind of sound u wanna get.

    Like Frusciante disto ?

like Morello ?? like Pantera ?

I'd say the tele is not designed for heavy disto sounds since there is no humbucker.

  • egsactly. They arnt meant purly to be clean. or it wouldnt be such a popular guitar - Strat and Tele.

  • Well, they can do a lot more than clean, anyway. You've got to remember, when Fernder designed them in the '50s, they weren't even made for overdrive. But neither was the Les Paul, I mean, that was originally Les Paul's signature model, and as a jazz player, he certainly didn't want any distortion at all. The fact that they sound really good distorted wasn't intended at all, it just kind of happened.

  • @CigaretteTwo Very good point (Y)

  • The American and Mexican are the EXACT SAME, stop worrying about your instrument and start worrying about your SOUND.

  • i say if you got money buy de mexico version bit if you have more money buy a american tele :D

  • Is that Tele modified?

  • I got mine from guitarcenter used . I paid $259

  • neck sounds realy nice clean

  • hey do you guys think that i could put seymour duncan blackouts on my mexican tele? would i have to cut into the guitar?

  • Most American teles have the flat body. Only the deluxe tele has the strat shape on the back of the body. The American teles and strats have 22 frets. The MIM teles and strats have 21.

  • and by the way you cant say stratocasters have bad tuning or you dont like thier tuners like you know what youre talking about. The strat you played was either a cheap one or just a bad one, if you play american standard or higher grade then you could make a general statement. Good try at a demo though

  • First of all you can put insane amounts of distortion on ANY guitar. It just sounds bad on alot of them. The whole way through, even on clean tones, your tone sucked, this would make people not want to buy it

  • Would you say that the neck is slim ?

Slimmer than a strat one ?

  • Haha not likely

  • nice video dude

  • Awful sounding amp, this guitar would sound sooo much better through a valve amp!

  • Great presentation, well organized, and your playing demonstrated the basic capabilities of the guitar. One nice thing about a cheap (but well-built) guitar like this is that you can mod the hell out of it. New pickups, swap out the bridge, and if you're really adventurous, re-wire it. That's what all the past greats did to get the tones they heard in their heads. :-)

  • i want that guitar!!! but i dont have enough money...

  • same :(

  • Great Guitar, horrible colour! Sorry lol

  • haha i agree with you

  • i thought that the back pickup on telecasters were stacked humbuckers.

  • No this way is the standard but you can get it with a humbuckers if you want personally I like the original set up the best.

  • dude your classic tele doesn't have humbuckers.. that's not what they're made for, really. you'd have to get a new bridge if you want to throw a humbucker in there.. you could get a fatter sound with like a SD hot rails, maybe, and that would fit in the bridge.

  • what is it that pickup on the bridge??? sorry for my english

  • i'm not sure if anyone can answer this, but

does anyone know for sure if the guitarist from a plea for purging uses a telecaster with 81/85 emg's?

  • do the mexican teles come with a rosewood fret becaue mine ha maple and i couldnt find any rosewoods

  • Nice review, I have a standard tele aswell, artic white and I put a black pickguard on it. Anyways cool video, I have the same poster in the background lol

  • can you do metal with that with the right gear?

  • i think you can do metal with any guitar...

  • watch Jari Mäenpää of Wintersun... he uses a Telecaster

  • Yes of course. Doesn't some guy from slipknot use a tele. I'm not into metal but i know that. Telecasters are the shizz!!! lol

  • well yea but the dude from slipkont uses a custom telecaster with emg pickups

  • Jim Root

  • nice review! how much was it? and where did you buy it from? im either thinking about getting a tele or a gibson les paul, i currently have a schecter c1+ atm with a line 6 spider 3 75 watt

  • Umm I'm not sure where my friend bought this guitar (it's not mine) and I'm not really sure what the price was when my friend bought it due to the fact that now a days the Fender company changes their prices frequently. In my opinion Les Pauls are one of the best guitars on the face of the planet ( but theirs better) so I would go with a Les Paul but that depends on the music you play and if you like more bass in your sound or more treble. P.S. Thanx.

  • i play all types of music, metallica , guns n roses, johnny cash, megadeth stuff like that :D

  • dude.....les pauls rock!!!! get one of those, and there a huge difference in price between a mexican tele and an american gibson les paul, get a gibson les paul studio, i bought one for $2000 AUD it fuckin rocks!!!!

  • Les paul is fine.

    but every1 with hes taste.

    i like Strat, Hate LP.

    awesome sound man!!!

    what amp?

  • dude, dont compare a les paul to a tele. they are different all the way

  • @XzaccYXguitarXplayer

i just got one, and mine ran 550.

  • @XzaccYXguitarXplayer This is a year late, but for people just coming to this thread: I'd personally have recommended a telecaster over a les paul any day, to someone with a C1. The C1 can reproduce les paul tones fairly easily.

  • Tele's are awesome, I don't think you really need to have a humbucker in the bridge, I have heard some Tele's that are right up there Jacksons and ESP's distortion wise with stock pickups. I really like it for metal because the tone doesn't get all muddy when you pile up tons of distortion, a lot of that is because its a 25.5" scale, string through body, and the pickups are naturally more trebly so you get a real cutting tone.

  • hi, did you change your bridge pickups?? and it's FENDER Telecaster Mexican Standard with the fender pickups, 21 frets?

  • thanks. your a great guitar player

  • have you ever played any fender stratocasters

  • Yes and I love there tone but I don't really like their tuners. My fav. Strats are the ones with the Humbucker and 2 Single-coil set up.

  • very good review. ive got the strat and if people want the usa fender sound change the pickups to usa ones. its the exact same trust me it feels the same as a usa and sounds the same + saves a lot of money.

  • hey , nice review, what colour is that tele? i want to get one! thanks.

  • It's called lake placid blue.

  • Thnx and I will.

  • whoa i think im first view, cool

  • no i was.
