  • Haha thanks!

  • Jimmy fuckin Herring

  • I have this dvd, amazing.. just amazing, never heard of Jimmy Herring before this song, but man.. he kicks some major ass! :). Les is a god!

  • Love it and how Les continuously allows others to shine.

  • the question should be "Can someone tell me what Serik is saying at the beginning?" Please post it. thx

  • @DanSemotan Skerik says in the beginning, "mr. stanton moore on the drums ladies and gentlemen, Karl denson on the saxophone ladies and gentlemen."

  • i remember this time a daves party when mike threw the kegs in the pool and everyone was getting really pissed off when all of a sudden...

  • guest guitarist is Jimmy Hearing

  • Haven't seen this in a long time, forgot how badass this vid is. Jimmy Herring coming in to play, the 4 percussionists, Les's story, all epic

Anyone have an mp3 of this or know how to make one

  • jimmy herring

  • Holy Shitballs. Esta un bueno song.

  • that guitarist is MIRV! Brian Kehoe himself

  • actually, I think he's talking about the older dude near towards the end..and THAT dude is the esteemed Jimmy Herring..he's been playing Dead shows lately w/ Warren Haynes, I'm pretty sure, but he's best know for his work w/ Aquarium Rescue Unit..check 'em out..AMAZING jams :D

  • MIRV isn't Brian Kehoe he is Mirv Haggard but that is Brian Kehoe playing guitar

  • Brian Kehoe used to have a band called MIRV way back in the day. They played shows with Primus before they got big.

  • no the lead of MIRV was Mirv Haggard not Kehoe. look it up

Kehoe is just playing this show with Claypool

  • hey deaddog87, not to be rude, but my father hosted edgar winter at a club in tennessee, and edgar is blind,so he always wears sunglasses, thats his younger brother johnny winter playing guitar,he also played all the guitar on edgars songs

  • that's a kickin' bass!

  • does anyone know what kind of drum mike dillon is playing.

  • A normal Tabla kit! Tabla and a Bol, that is!

  • when claypool came to houston, i was at the very front and my friend next to me was taking a picture of skerik and skerik posed, then we made eye contact and i did that licking the lips thing at 1:45 and he laughed. I ROCK!!!

  • Its Jimmy Herring, from Widespread Panic, he has also been known for playing with the Allman Brothers Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Jazz Is Dead, Phil Lesh and Friends, The Dead, Justice League, and Project Z, among others.

  • yeah i am wrong, it looks like him though.

  • the long haired albino looking guy that comes in later is Edgar Winter, classic rock guitarist and writer of Frankenstein a classic rock song, master of slide guitar.

  • can anybody tell me how les gets that sound out of the bass...is it an effects pedal

  • yes sir it is. an envelope filter. the nicest sounding one ive heard is a DOD FX25, but they stopped making them like a month ago. so if you want one, ebay/amazon is best solution

  • "jimmy herring is a mighty powerful fella..."

    les, that's a fucking understatement.

is it just me, or does les know every bad-ass guitarist?

  • Yes... yes he does... Les has worked with some ridiculously awesome people.

  • Woah, what song did Stanton Moore play on?

  • what strings does les use anybody

  • if i am not mistaken i think the guitarist is the guy from M.I.R.V

  • The guest guitarist is Jimmy Herring

  • Les is using an 8-string bass here, hence why the sound is all chuggy.

  • its a 4- string guy. dont be stupid

  • Actually, it IS an 8 string Kramer (4 tuners at the head, 4 behind the bridge which you can just make out at the end of the song) with an aluminium neck (which feels horrible... trust me!). Les is also using an envelope filter, possibly a dunlop Auto-Q, to get that 'beyow' sound.

  • im the one who maarked this as spam since it is therefore so incrediously retarted!

  • Comment removed

  • thanks person of knowledge.

  • i think the special guest is playing a les paul guitar any one have some feedback on what he might be using

  • wat kinda bass is that?

  • its a kramer, very rare

  • This sucks!!!

  • Well people... I'm totally down with Les and his music, I'm just sporting some Primus lingo. Sucks = great. Sorry if that didn't come out right

  • this is my favoret part in the DVD

  • How can someone not know Jimmy Herring?

  • well, i don't know who you are.

  • wow. WOW. Claypool and his pals can not be matched

  • Didnt Warren Hayes do the slide on the album?

  • yeah, he did..the dvd this is from (5 Gallons of Diesel) shows haynes doing the slide for this song at Claypool's Rancho Relaxo studio as on of the extras..killer DVD..there's C2B3 on it, Frog brigade..Sausage..Oysterhead and a few extras as well..killer.....
