  • Thats awesome!

  • Ever think it might be a 50 lb bar. They do make em.

  • You're probably not going to bench with a 50lb Squat bar or a 60lb Mastadon Squat bar. These squat bars are thicker than a normal 45lb bar so they don't whip or bend as much as a 45lb bar.

Bars don't bend as much in benching for the same reason that they don't bend much in a snatch: the stress isn't on the middle of the bar. This is why no one has found it necessary to bench with a squat bar even though guys like Mendelson and Kennelly are handling 1100 and 1200 on board work.

  • @ptarleton you make no sense. Bar's for Olympic lifting bend more than any other bar...i know because i've been using one for 15 years.

  • @ptarleton They make different bars for powerlifting and olympic lifting. They intentionally have olympic lifting bars bend more so that they can jerk the weight up. It has nothing to do with hand positioning.

A GOOD Olympic barbell will also put a BIG emphasis on the bearings in the sleeves so the weight spins easier...thats something you dont want in a powerlifting bar, or a bar used for any exercise other than an olympic lift.

  • 495?

  • @rjsinn2 yes 495. come on. just give it to him its 500

  • Texas Power Bar is heavier than a regular Olympic 7ft.

  • good form

  • JL is back!
