it was a digital camcorder, and no, it wasn't real. The guy was the accordion player's dad..no one there knew it was fake at the time though.

and as for the mustache...chicks with mustaches are hot man!

I don't know if it's an actual Waits song..it's just a really basic/common minor chord progression so a few of his songs have probably used it.
