@exil3dlivecom - Speed is relative. That stretch of road is fucking crazy without 50 other bikes all traveling so close. I'd prefer a solo trip where a neighboring rider can't take the pack out. Even cars sometimes go over the edge here - sometimes the people in the car even live. In fact that road is so bad they are building a bypass.
But still, 3 hour bike ride stages are not sprints, they are endurance until the end sprint.
And ya, I am always capping on the tours too! HAHA
Thats amazing - a whole different world to me - worrying about mountain lions. The worse we get close to worrying about is a hedgehog or fox. I will have to return and do some cycling and hiking
I live in the UK (love cycling) and dont know the geography that well. I was in California in April around LA and traveling down the west coast. Where abouts is this?
@w011500 Located 15miles south of San Francisco on Pacific Coast Highway 1. There is an amazing aerial view of this section of devil's slide from Google earth but YouTube won't accept the complete link. You can fix the following address to find the Devil's Slide Aerial photo. panoramio com Slash photo Slash 5417324
@ConquistadorNiebla Hey I dont believe it I drove from SFC through the Bg Sur and onto LA all on highway 1. Therefore this must be the stretch of road I drove down. Its a fantastic drive and even better road to cycle
@w011500 That's very cool that you came here! The road is simply beautiful but the cars make it a bit too scary for me on a bike. I only rode here to take this video because the road was closed. I ride a mountain bike in the mountains above this road and I run. There are many amazing mountain trails near where I only have to worry about mountain lions. Lions are much safer than distracted texting drivers in my opinion.
That's called racing? Sloooow
