  • good good...

  • he is to effen cute!! i am going to get one,, i know all the care etc.,,

  • you kinda sound like napoleon dynomite

  • So cute.. I really want one, but I'm going to stick with my RES turtles. Reason being.. Is because it will cost a lot of money to get the tortoise and supplies, and run two UVB lights, you know

  • What turtle hut size is that?

  • Cute !! :)

  • Name It after one of the Ninja Turtles! even tho he is a tortoise! btw i LOLed at 1:15 ... idk y...

  • i am seriously consider getting a red foot i live in nc and if you guys dont know its getting in the high 80's to low 90's and i was wondering if it would b okay to keep it outside in an enclosure

  • what is the stuff you put on the bottom of the tank

  • @windycitychamp6 reptibark.

  • name him penny

  • hes cute. i have been thinking of getting one ive had tortoises(4) in the past 5 years i have a hingeback russian indian star, leopard, and a pancake tortoise so im pretty experianced i know redfoots need humid climates witha bout a 100w bulb in one corner is there anything else needed?

  • Luv my 2 redfoots but boy they are stinky when they poo.... thank goodness they spend most the time outside.. Bananas are bad for them and so are carrots... they love strawberries, apples and esp. dandelion greens.

  • Don't feed him banana's eaither this can cause unnesicary digestion problems due to the density of the banana, this is bad. and use sand paper for substrate as this allows them to develop back leg muscles and helps thier nails :) check out my videos :)

  • Don't feed him banana's eaither this can cause unnesicary digestion problems due to the density of the banana, this is bad. Just thoght i would let you know aswell :/ sorry... :)

  • bannana isnt to gd for tortoises too much sugar

  • sulcatas are the best =D

  • @Shawny418 but dnt they grow quite big??

  • @longshawt yeah i think sulcata's are the third largest tortoises in the world

  • Be careful not to feed him too many carrots because they can absorb the much needed calcium from the other veggies

  • I've had my red-foot for about five years now and got him when he was just a bit bigger than this little guy. They really are fun and neat pets. It's fun to show people a really cool and unusual pet.

  • !HELP! can anyone recommend a uvb bulb for my (1 year old)REDFOOT TORTOISE. the 2 bulbs that sounded right to me were the _ _ _Watt (exo terra) SUN GLOW basking spot bulb or a _ _ _Watt infrared bulb . Which of these 2 (or other) bulb, and which Wattage, suits my tortoise best???Thanks.(He is currently in a 20 x 14 inch rubbermaid tub (this is temporary).)

  • You should name it Buddy! That's what I named mine!

  • becarfull banana can be like poisen to them

  • i thought your not suppose to use repti bark and that your not suppose to give them tomatoes because its high in acid

  • How's he doing

    ? He's cute :)

  • lol to me the red foot tortoise is like the tortoise version of a painted turtle lol

  • You haven't thought of a name for him? HIS NAME SHOULD BE FRED!!!

  • how mutch did he cost and how big do they get???

  • way way to small cage and to tall not the right thing for a tortoise

  • so stupid ive had mine since i was five and itts so boring

  • dont feed him too many berries and i think this goes for every friut cuz they could get runny poop__--_----at least this is true for a russian tortoise

  • dude they get up to 19.8 inches and i really like your tortoise im planning on getting a russian tortoise

  • I'm a beginner when it comes to these guys, but I do want one. I'm thinking about a redfoot or a leopard tortoise. I have experience taking care of other reptiles but not turtles. Do you have any suggestions on which tortoise I should get and why?

  • check mine out

  • he looks just like mine!!!

  • i want one!

  • cypress mulch is the BEST you can get for a redfoot

  • that's adorable that he's letting you hand feed him. can the redfoot eat everything you put out for him? Like within a reasonable amount of time? or do you just leave the food there for the day and eventually it gets eaten?

  • what their care exactly? theres this guy giving one away for free and i like them think they look cool, hes 5 years old but not too sure on needs l0l

  • if you don't already know the care requirements for a red foot tortoise, don't get one.

  • well i know they like prety humid places, temps in like 80-90 and a basking spot of about 95 (F), and a hiding spot, uva/uvb, and mulch/bark (cypress) is good, cause of humidity, but like i meant how much humidity not completly stupid bout turtles...

  • a 5 year old red foot tortoise will probably require more space than you can imagine, about the size of a bedroom if you plan on keeping it indoors. i have a 7 month old yellow foot and i'm keeping it in an enclosure that's 2.5 ft by 2.5 ft and even that seems a bit small.

  • yeah but i didnt get him the guy gave him away to another person, and this guy came with his enclosure so i didnt worry to much for that cause i know a full adult needs like a 6x4x3 or so

  • I live in the tropics so mine lives in a small garden under a palmtree!!

  • @MamboPython stupid advice to give someone don't you think, If you say that to everyone, nobody won't get anything, including the people that really want a different pet, did someone say that to you before you got your first reptile? this @EcBuddy123 guy seems like he really wants one, so give him some constructive advice, fucking ignorant people in this world..

  • @MamboPython Didn't seem to stop you from getting one. Glass tanks are crap for tortoises.

  • @EcBuddy123 They require moisture, heat and some TLC. They are good for beginners.

  • He is gorgeous! Even as a baby, he looks old, and has amazingly long claws!

  • I am thinking of getting a tortoise, but i dont want one that grows to big if you get me lol, what is the smallest and easiest to care for type of tortoise?

  • A russian tortoise gets no bigger than the size of an adults palm, about 5" they requre no special humidity changes and are a relatively easy tortoise to look after.

  • Hey, i just have a question, i just got a baby redfoot tortoise a few weeks ago and noticed it flips itself over a few times, i usually flip it back up right away but i just want to know for some day if i werent here to flip it back and it were to happen what the risks are?, iv tryed to make it less possible for her to flip over but she still finds ways, any ideas?

  • make sure there is nothing in the cage that the tortoise can flip itself over on, if it flips itself over and stays like that for long, it can die

  • I really want to get a redfoot, russian, or hermaans tortoise coz there my favourites!

  • russians are easy to take care of, hardy, and nice :)

  • I almost bought a red foot at the Mississauga expo, but I ran out of money :) The little guys are expensive.

  • how much is it?

  • i will sell you a baby redfoot right now for 300.00 i am in toronto let me know?

  • Wow it made the one at PJ's petstore or something really expensive, they don't usually have them anymore but I saw a few times they had a red foot tortoise for like 500 something @.@ and its only like the size of a normal mouse

  • Waterland tubs has great Tortoise tubs for all kinds of torts!! Just google waterland tubs and you'll find them!

  • thats really really little enclosure

  • Does he still have his egg tooth?

  • really awesome nice turtle

  • how much did he cost who did you get him/her from

  • name him retron or muncher =D

  • Dude I really like yours, I am buying one next week but mine is really expensive, $240.000 without tax. its a captive bred so no parasites or issues and is only 3 months old. I still need $65.00 dollars or i would have bought it tonight when i went out to check out the prices. good luck!!

  • I got 2 for around 120 they were at 100$ each but i got them down to 60

  • mine was really spendy also just about 200

  • buy em from a breeder u get em much cheaper!!

  • In Canada that is the price, even at breeders... You can get tiny babies for like 165 - 200 at the least

  • I breed Tortoises.

If you dont have a heat mat for in the winter and its a inside tortoise it will be unhappy and get stressed out.

  • could you tell me where is the reptile expo

  • you're doing a really good job keeping your tortoise, but just like "TassyDevil04" said, they really shouldn't be given a heat mat. A heat bulb will allow him to soak in the heat all through his body instead of just underneath his shell. Just buy a heat bulb and another lamp and you should be good!

  • Have to agree with the last comment. Tprtoises should not be kept in an environment that has a heat mat. A basking bulb is needed and it should be placed in one area of the environment.Tnis is because if the tortoise needs to escape the heat it can by going to another area. I have kept tortoises for years and they are always kept with a basking lamp in one area and a UV lamp too.

  • NO heat mats fot tortoises!!! Thier organs are on the bottom and thier lungs on the top - they can regulate thier heat by breathing and hiding - if you overheat thier organs they could die. He's very cute though! He'll bring you lots of enjoyment for many years!!

  • My fiancee got me one for Christmas last week! I LOVE him! (The tortoise and my fiancee, LOL) I had a crappy day at work so he gave him to me early. I had been going to the pet store everyday to see him. I have a RES Turtle and 3 tree frogs, already. I've been wanting a red foot for about 2 years though. They're so sweet!

  • i can get one for 150 at petshack

  • i got one today for 90.00 its about the size of his

  • Nice tortoise. You bought it in Mississauga?

    How much?

  • 300

  • really i got mine at a retile show today for 90 dollars

  • i explained in the video why in canada they are more expensive

  • o ok.

  • i just got one today

  • wat kind of beding is that

  • that is repti bark

  • I love red foots, Im going to get my second one soon!

  • I have 2 redfoots and they are so precious!

  • yeah, we are more for dagmar tho but i have been to lakeridge.

  • Yeah Dagmar has an awesome park, I go there too sometimes

  • 120$ at turtle source . com

  • I am canadian and it is illegal to import tuttles or tortoises. So all of our tortoises are many generations captive bred and that is all you can get, if you to into petsmart is US they are all imported from wild.

  • i always have to hand feed my tortoise beacuse if i dont hand feed him he never tries eating anything... is that normal?

  • Could be a hiss and yes lol mine has escaped successfully like 5 times...just make sure that your tank is secure. The ball will allways try to escape

  • k thanks man c ya

  • i read that lights dry them out. And his temps are perfect so...

  • dude you shouldnt use heat mats with tortoises

  • that is a realy good lookin tortoise 5\5!

  • cool

  • What do you think of the name rafiel. Rafiel is the red ninja turtle. I know hes not a turtle but i think its pretty cool name.
