This looks to me as the update from the KIN phones. The KIN had the same sort of "tile" home screen layout, but they weren't live. I think they've realized their mistakes on the KINs, and have came out with what the KIN was supposed to be.

I got the Samsung Focus WP7 and it's a great phone. My favorite features are: 2 days without charging, a back button, bing, zune and office integration. I like the way my photos automatically upload to the web. The tiles are cool... like sticky notes...favorites on top and quick short term reminders on bottom...easy to find, select pin and remove on the go.
How's the app department, any good apps or games out yet? Are there many of them? Do they cost alot of money? Are there any free apps? And how's the camera? ( recording + photo)?

@ndrwplussine this was basically a proof of concept of the interface. Check out the videos posted of it within 3 months or so. Its zippy, buttery smooth, and puts android to shame.

Both are highly respectable, and can guarantee a high quality product. Boht Windows phone seven and Android look great, but I think Google's os has the edge right now.
Coming from an iphone user im very impressed with the approach windows is taking on their new mobile platform,its very similar approach to iOS which is an integrated software not fragmented like some other platforms...
@chizzle0 because they took what those guys did and made it simpler to use easier to get what information you need, and a better music player that's far easier to access. That's not to say that it has a few things to work on, like cut and paste. As far as blackberry, blackberry is dead after this. They've really never improved on their old boring UI. Dell has already announced that they're replacing all their blackberrys with WP7 devices.

I have an iPhone but I'm very interested in this phone the user interface seems very relevant and organic. At the very least, I can't wait to check the Window Phone 7 out.
I have it and it is amazing. Much better than Iphone, facebook easy, xbox, MS Office, brilliant interface, good reading and using, OUTLOOOOOK !!! hotmail, twiter, Zune much better and cheaper than itunes,.. for a worker that loves social nets and love playing and enjoying multimedia and picturing as well of use of hundred nice applications this is far better than iphone. I am saying pure truth after using it.

I am living my Acer laptop (who knew Acer could make a good computer?). I paid $500 for a device that would have set me back $1000 for 1GB less memory and 50 GB less hard drive space. It ABSOLUTELY MUST BE snappy and responsive, no more memory leaks or hanging screens that require a reboot. I've used HTC's Windows smartphones for years and finally made the decision to go with Android for my next phone, as I'm probably buying the Droid 2 next month. If Microsoft receives good reviews and has a powerful, responsive OS in the 7, they'll get my business in the next generation of smartphones. They've lost it for this next purchase however -- Windows Mobile is just too slow.

Every one of these products have proven to be above quality expectations, work, and are well integrated with each other. Apple's products do a poor job of working together, though they do most definitely work.

Both are highly respectable, and can guarantee a high quality product. Boht Windows phone seven and Android look great, but I think Google's os has the edge right now.

@chizzle0 because they took what those guys did and made it simpler to use easier to get what information you need, and a better music player that's far easier to access. That's not to say that it has a few things to work on, like cut and paste. As far as blackberry, blackberry is dead after this. They've really never improved on their old boring UI. Dell has already announced that they're replacing all their blackberrys with WP7 devices.

I tried the new phone and I am unimpressed. The Iphone is much easier to use and 100 times more original.
But the Maroon 5 concert in SF was awesome, so props to Windows for that one!

I have it and it is amazing. Much better than Iphone, facebook easy, xbox, MS Office, brilliant interface, good reading and using, OUTLOOOOOK !!! hotmail, twiter, Zune much better and cheaper than itunes,.. for a worker that loves social nets and love playing and enjoying multimedia and picturing as well of use of hundred nice applications this is far better than iphone. I am saying pure truth after using it.

@luckyluke1000 Unless some gaps are exposed in the IOS software, or you've jailbroken your iPhone, which I have seen plenty of viruses of many assortments, I doubt that would happen. Its not impossible but unlikely, given that Apple allows only what they want you to have in terms of apps.

@lausangio Actually I had three macs before I went back. All three of them were more glitchy then any other computer I've ever owned. I am living my Acer laptop (who knew Acer could make a good computer?). I paid $500 for a device that would have set me back $1000 for 1GB less memory and 50 GB less hard drive space. So what does that tell you?

It ABSOLUTELY MUST BE snappy and responsive, no more memory leaks or hanging screens that require a reboot. I've used HTC's Windows smartphones for years and finally made the decision to go with Android for my next phone, as I'm probably buying the Droid 2 next month. If Microsoft receives good reviews and has a powerful, responsive OS in the 7, they'll get my business in the next generation of smartphones. They've lost it for this next purchase however -- Windows Mobile is just too slow.
