  • i don't think it was an accelerator pedal problem..I know what it is.. A PROPAGANDA against toyota or just simply it has occured just once to any DUMB because of a floormat and now all americans think that toyotas are crap.

  • The whole problem is people bought Toyotas! Toyota is one big Pinhead! LOL

  • I love TOYOTA but i think they should design a new pedal.....

  • Toyota................"no matter how hard you try you cant stop us now"

  • Stupid cars these arent cars these are computers watever happened to the origional cars not everything has to be electrical

  • @sonyericson20 Cause non computerized cars suck? Duh?

  • @PandaMagicFTW

I agree but come on to a certain point you dont really need power windows heated and cooling cupholders etc.. too much electronics cause these kind of situations because they have no idea where the problem is coming from. You dont really need anything besides air condition, power steering, heat, ABS

  • @sonyericson20 Yes but, it would be better with all that stuff right? And if it breaks then its basically the same as if you never had it anyways, besides the power windows of course. Plus, there are ALOT more electronics in a modern car that you don't notice. For example, stiffening up the suspension allows you to turn a corner alot more quickly, or giving more power to the rear wheels so you can start of the line faster, and many other things. Electronics makes a car alot more quicker.

  • @PandaMagicFTW

Well you do have a point there for the performance cars but say you buy a family car like a camry......you wouldnt need all those fancy electronics that can make you go faster if it were a sports car I would understand but for this is happening to daily driven sedans I wouldnt want to buy one then test what its capable of since thats not what it was made for. Plus whats the satisfaction of having fake skill that all those electronics give you

  • @sonyericson20 Well, it's not really "fake skill" there are many things you can't do in a car without the electronics. If you want a car not for its performance, then it's going to be for luxury, and the more electronics a car has the more comfortable the ride will be. The ride will be more smoother, and you will have alot of accessories at your disposal. But if you are looking for the cheapest car only to get you from A to B no matter how uncomfortable, then electronics would be useless.

  • @PandaMagicFTW Well then I guess at this point it comes down to the driver hmm

  • @sonyericson20 Of course, my point is just that electronics in a car makes the car overall better.

  • @PandaMagicFTW I guess butt itd still be much better to learn how to drive without all that electrical stuff so you actually know how the car moves and reacts to certain situations which will then help you use the cars electronics effectively because iv seen some pretty stupid accident especially hydroplaning

  • @sonyericson20 Most cars allow you to turn them all off. So if you wanted to drive without any Traction Control, DSC, ESP, ABS, etc, you don't have to. I personally leave them all turned on, unless I'm trying to drift, which I can't do properly.

  • Great, will we see yet another video once they finally admit that it is the electronics, not the pedal?

  • If Toyota get through this, they will be a far more powerful company because they will never repeat these same mistakes again.

  • toyota lost their touch back in 1996, we haven't seen a good car out of them since. toyota you got too big too fast, get back to your roots-if you can weather this storm and stay afloat.

  • Gotta realize that we are in a very huge transition period with cars. With everything relying on electronics and finding ways to keep the mechanical feedback. Soon it will be steering and brakes. And we will be in the same boat again. And best believe it will get worse as electric cars become more popular, where you don't have all the pulley and vacuum driven devices that a combustion motor provided. All electronic now baby. All new technology that has to be tried out on somebody. How bout you?

  • OK, so what happens when that material again wares out to the thickness of the shim? Than install another shim behind the other until the material is all squashed and flat. Till you only have 75% of pedal travel from all the shims shoved behind it? Because they are fixing fairly new cars. So not long before I need another shim after the first?

  • wait i thought they said it was the floor mat?

  • Japanese Ford Pintos in the making.

  • We have seen this issue on Older Toyotas too. Solution was a cleaning and lithium grease lube ..same as what is done on sticky seat belt latches...

  • all u have to do is put the thing in neutral or take the key out

  • @nizzim if you take the key out you lock the steering and kill yourself.. Just click it back once to kill the engine and park the car .. putting it in neutral could over rev the engine ...

  • @JaxxBat Wrong, you will not over rev the engine. I t will hit a certain RPM and ecu will kick in and keep it from reving any further. It's called a rev limiter.

  • @KenBobBad .. If the engine is new I would not want to test the rev limiter..And if the car is chipped it may rev higher. The main problem with over revving is sustained RPM not momentary acceleration. Seems you have missed my little point. BTW my Toyota Supra Turbo is AEM 720 rwhp..But it is not my number one car..

  • id wrather blow my motor than die. neutral would be my first try

  • @KenBobBad ... new engine in rev limiter repeatedly is not good ,, if you like your car ..

how many engines have you built??

  • Right, reving the engine to limiter is not good but it is better than reving it to redline or above. and the average person i would hope shut off the engine if it is bouncing of the limiter.

I have never built a engine from the ground up due to lack of money but I couldn't tell you how many cars i have worked on.

  • @KenBobBad .. cool

  • oh yeah, that makes sense,I bet it doesn't work.over time it will stick,or people will take them out to get better acceleration.

  • Toyota issued a recall because it would have cost more to pay law settlements than it would to recall and repair all cars.

  • new toyota motto `TOYOTA - ACCELERATING FORWARD`

  • @2006scottw LOLZ!

  • quickly GM sell some cars!

  • Hey Mr Toyota - i was driving to work the other day and my gas pedal got stuck. car reached 115mph. i bailed out, but car hit a tree and caught fire. how can i keep moving forward?

  • ignition key ftw

  • @SnortedColors you cant cause your a dope..

  • Does TOYOTA notice that the installation of the steel reinforcement bar could reduce the acceleration capability of the Vehicle?, The device (YELLOW in the image) installed to make the pedal stable also state the maximum depth that the pedal can reach. In emergency cases sometimes is required to push the pedal to the bottom and the car will no response as is required or as it was originally designed.

  • They couldn't kill us by putting led in our toys.. But they finaly got us with our cars.

  • It's Toyota's time, and Toyota is responsible for it because it hides FOR YEARS some defects in its cars that causes injuries and deaths.

Toyota paid to hide problems, so how do we know they didn't pay Consumer Reports to write that Toyota's car are the best?

  • It's a matter of a fact that Toyota's car caused more deaths than competitors comparing the number of car sold. It's a matter of fact that Toyota paid fed inspectors to hide it. It's a matter of a fact that Toyota paid politicians to hide truth and agree with Toyota's in any case. For years American products had been deglected even when they were better than Japan products.

  • It's a matter of fact that even monkeys fall from trees, one bad design part in a long history of making good ones.

It's a matter of fact that they are getting the attention they are getting due to the fact that everyone looks up to them for quality if it would have been GM, Ford, or Chrysler it is actually expected for them so it would not even reach the six o'clock news.

  • Nobody cares that they make mistakes, they care that these mistakes are such big fuck ups, that they can cost many lives. If a car can't stop, it will either go on a rampage, or just fall off a cliff, or crash into the next car in front of it. This isn't just a minor glitch; this can cost other too: people who didn't even buy these vehicles in the first place.

  • Moving Forward?More like Moving Backwards.LOL!!

  • solution stop making parts in mexico

  • those parts were made by an american company, thats why it sucked...

  • hey, check out my new toyota keyboaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • whatever

    TOYOTA FOR LIFE.

    EVERY PROBLEM HAS A SOLUTION(:

  • You still scared me away.

  • @NikkoCharger

at leaste toyota is doing something about it. unlike GM just keep saying oh well too bad you bought it you take care of it

  • Exactly, GM waits until the government FORCES them and TELLS them what to do. In this case Toyota took responsibility.

Just to let you guys know, that cable systems also suffer "friction" issues where a quick squirt of WD-40 resolves the issue. I've done this on many ten year old vehicles.

  • TOYOTA is still one of the very best manufacturers in the world. This is what happens when you put badly designed American parts in vehicles...

  • These parts are the very ones that Toyota engineers have ultimate responsibility for. Toyota accepted the design and stuck it in production. Their design and release process should have caught the issue through testing. It didn't, and now people are dying.

  • Not

  • Toyota is still the best

  • Moving Forward, Toyota think about changing your motto

  • First

  • HAH NEWB
