@Wrexsoul8 The issue with the Krogan is that they breed in the thousands, like roaches. one pair can create an entire colony, then overwhelm a planet in a few years. this mixed with the fact that they honor victory in battle as the greatest possible achievement makes them impossible to incorporate with the rest of the galaxy. u get to see their home world in me2. they are a rough bunch, living in their armor, and fighting over scraps and mates. the galaxy cant coexist with krogan.

@Wrexsoul8 They are similar to rachni that they desire killing and breeding like animaals, yet are sentient enough to build spacecraft. imagine if spiders desired to kill more than anything, but could operate lasers and withstand tons of damage. the genophage ensures only 1 in a couple thousand babies survive. they arent so bad, as warlike and uncontrollable. The genophage acts as a grey issue in the games to set some reality to it. if i were the alliance, i would nuke the krogan hw

Your big problem (including with Tali) is that you're letting your companions level up automatically. By allowing yourself to put their points in manually, you have a lot more control on how effective they will be.

For example, for those Lockers you need to hack, anyone with Tech can do it (Kaidan, Garrus or Tali), but it's a specific skill in their list that does so (look for the little triangles indicating new/improved skills). Auto level doesn't see it as important and mostly ignores it.

Yeah, I've been preaching about the Liara + Tali powerhouse combo since the very first parts.

You DON'T need any Combat Strength outside your own. Combat Strength doesn't mean the effectiveness in combat, it just reflects the devotion the character has towards weaponry.

Since you're a Soldier, Liara + Tali is the best team to go with in pretty much any situation.

Hell, it'd be more useful on teammates because they rely SOLELY on stats like that, INSTEAD of skill like the player does. You get a slight bonus to some stuff that is ignorable when the player's skill is taken into account. They get the ability to be half decent with a gun. I choose the second option.

But instead of putting points into weapon training you assign points into special abilities, and these special abilities are under your control. You can tell a squad member to use warp for example and it deteriorates the enemys armor making them easy pickings for yourself.

But having squad members rely on weapons and dealing damage using weapons is dumb, because the AI is all over the place and you can't really trust it.

Oi, X! Tali isn't useless! The problem is that you just don't appreciate tech powers! Tali's got the strongest shields of anybody and is extremely hard to kill, and her abilities are useful if you know how and when to apply them. You just never take her, so you don't realize that.

Also, not to give anything away (and you likely already played this far anyway), but you want to take Tali on Feros. It's crawling with geth and enemies best dealt with by shotguns. She's perfect for the job.
