  • Can't say I agree with this. Firstly, the tissues are only theoretically separate, when you lift a weight, you exercise, muscle, nerve, fascia, bone, joint, blood vessel etc. If you load tissues through 'full range of motion' you maintain suppleness. It is also safe to dynamically and rhythmically mobilize joints to keep them supple provided the dynamic range of motion is appropriate for the given joint...

  • @larzlucifer it's a little bit off putting because he's talking about stretching ligaments and tendons, which once stretched do not go back to their original length, this makes for unstable joints. I believe that this can lead to higher rates of injury.

  • Just a small detail: repetition in the gym does not give you big muscles, you have to add heavy weights to get big muscles. :o)

  • And, of course, big mucles comes with few repetitions and heavy weights, not many repetiotions a low weights (that just gets you perserverence).

  • paul's understanding of how each person's body is built differently should be the base of every yoga practice! when we can understand this we don't crave to get our bodies into positions which aren't correct for us! there is a pose for every body and using the wrong pose for your body can have damaging effects which could be irreversable! listen and learn and you will find your own practice becoming a lot more beneficial and fun!!

    Is the goal of your relationship with Yoga to become enlightened? I'm working on videos that are explaining the enlightenment, through the kinetic exercises of painting and tennis. Do you know how Yoga, painting and Tennis are Inter-disciplinary?
