  • cool

  • Amazing !

  • Amazing Keyboards! \m/

  • my favourite part 1:44 - 2:35

  • What CD was this from?

  • Comment removed

  • @imcominforyou Ecliptica

  • @CouldItBeHate Oh, I know that. I have the 2008 remaster edition, which sounds different from this. So I thought it was a demo or something

  • @imcominforyou Why ask if you already knew?

The title of the video says Ecliptica 1999 anyways so... o.o

Anyways... UnOpened are in all these: "The End of This Chapter", "Ecliptica", "Ecliptica Re-Issue", "UnOpened", "The Collection" and live from 16/06-2000 in "Successor".

  • @CouldItBeHate Did you not read my comment? My re-issued CD sounds different than this, so I thought it was a demo, like 8th Commandment or FullMoon

  • @imcominforyou But why would he name it (it, as in the video) Ecliptica if it was a demo?

I just mentioned all the albums that the song is in so that you could listen to them and compare if you wanted to.

  • can i have thumbs up for nothing?

  • @Juananerox yes you can

  • here u have the solo made by me /watch?v=6B0xUxMV360 greetings from chile

  • This is now one of my favourite songs from Sonata, in my top ten at least, now that I know it's about Scrooge McDuck and Glittering Goldie :) I've been listening to this song for years and years and only a few days ago I found out what it's about! It's so awesome.

  • I've uploaded the 'withdrawn' mistake version of Unopened from the Unopened single :)

  • Is that normal that the rythm slows down between the beginning and 0:19 ?

  • One of the best song of SA alongside wolf and raven, and the cage!

  • Bellissima.

  • \m/

  • The beginning looks Casttlevania (L)

  • @dynamicspartan: I don't know. As I said, only 200 copies have been sold and they are very rare so it's hard to find them. Maybe you can on Amazon, eBay or other sites... And Google is your friend! :)

  • there are 2 bieber's fans among us

  • @inverosimilitud dont bring that fucking bieber shit here! -.-

  • @inverosimilitud *handing the other chainsaw in my hand to you* "come on, lets take 'em down.." *chainsaw sounds, lots of blood spilling...*

  • niceeeee...

  • @scaredgraffiti como que nice? eres gringo o que ? putito

  • the lyrics are sad

  • lol i never red the lyrics. i got it all wrong....

  • First two lines fancinate me like they belong in great poetry :/

  • Wasn't there a slowed down version of this song when Ecliptica was first released?

  • @dynamicspartan No, it was in the first release of the single UnOpened, the song was slowed down (unintentionnally) and approximately 200 copies have been sold so far. Then they made a re-release with the normal-speed of UnOpened.

  • @x080395 is there anyway I can find it?

  • @dynamicspartan hey man, maybe you are thinking the version from the demo, try on my channel i uploaded that version, maybe that is what you are looking for.

  • @dynamicspartan Yes. I have it on a radio station compilation called "Metalliliitto Vol 3". They somehow fucked it up. I never knew it was slowed until I heard the original one. Apparently the first single had it too.

  • theres another version of unopened but i can't find it! it starts out like "another day goes by, another rainy day outside, why do i waste my life all the time?" can someone help me find it?

  • @sheiks65 search it on the demo full moon

  • @sheiks65 Yep, thats on the demo, but I think the band was called "Tricky Means" back then.

  • @latuman you mean "Tricky Beans?"?

  • @WertzuHun They were Beans and Means at some points. Dont know which came first.

  • @latuman Tricky Beans was the first.

  • nightwish is pretty good but sonata arctica IS BETTER !!!!

  • that song has the best keyboard solo ever...

  • Best power metal debut and easily in top 5 debuts IMO

  • Surely you don't think this is as good as Lost Horizon's debut.

  • 1998-1999 were extremely rich with good albums.

and it's not only said about metal.

  • Did this song appear in an anime or something like that? I feel I've heard this song before but I can't remember when...

  • The first time I heard this song was in a mod for max payne on PC maybe you heard it there I dunno.

  • Mmm... don't think so. It was somewhere else, if I remember sometime it's ok but if I don't it doesn't matter. But thanks for trying to help anyway.

  • Me too. Spend some time trying to figure out the name and band. Simply love the first half

  • @RiderOfPhoenix They are pretty hot for finnish power metal in japan, so probably yes.

  • sonata arctica with jani is the best

  • yeaaa old sonata

  • I prefer the demo version from year 1997 =D Its better

  • Definitely one of the best songs ever made from the best band of the world

    They are so awesome

  • Alright, everybody in the comments, shut up about Dragonforce and Nightwish and just listen to Soanta Arctica, the band you came here for!

(Sonata Arctica is the best of all anyways)

  • @flamingstick Totally agree, Dragonforce SUCKS, Nightwish SUCKS. Everything SUCKS unlike sonata arctica!

  • @Proz428

I agree, so before you label me a nightwish sympathizer I AGREE!

    BUT...

You're trying to compare two different styles of music, it's like comparing Johnny Cash to Bob Dillon. They're similar, but still different enough to be considered their own genres.

Of course sonata arctica is some of the best power metal of this type I've heard but not the best power metal in general because there are so many different types of power metal.

    Long live SA

    Long live PM

  • @flamingstick 1: learn how to fucking spell 2: your right they are the best.

  • @flamingstick thats what i sead to my friend but do they listen i mean when i herd night wish i was like WTF but anyway sonata arctica rocks

  • Comment removed

  • power metal at its best

  • Essa é outra das tantas muito boas dessa banda!!!

This is just one of many others good musics of this band!!

  • good but i prefer the cage

  • I love sonata... I heard of them through a starcraft pimpest plays video, along with freedom call..

    My favorite bands now ;)

  • the first verse why did they change it from the demo though

  • lol i found them by watching some vid on youtube with Dont Say A Word in the background. and now I own a bunch of their albums. they are the best band in the universe

  • Haha, that's so cool. It's so funny how we sometimes discover bands by such happy chance and they turn out to be one we really like/love. I can totally relate!

  • Yeah, I heard about Sonata through my other fave band Freedom Call, which I just happaned across when I was on my PSP's internet radio at midnight =O

  • i found out about stratovarious in physics because we watched a crytek video with weird things and paradise played in the background

  • What's crytek and how's it related to physics?

  • It's always our fav bands that we find by accident. I found Nightwish out by randomly watch google videos, and I came across a Pearl Harbor with Wishmaster in it. I found out about Sonata Arctica a few days later while searching Nightwish. So, random, but SOO GOOD!

  • Fuckin' A.!

I've found a bunch of cool bands by reading Amazon reviews. Reviewers would refer to another band and the site would give you related artists/albums on the CD's pages. Plus, they give you song samples. You should try exploring music that way as well.

  • I found almost all m favorite bands, Angra, Avantasia, Altaria, Sonata Arctica, Elvenking, Rhapsody of Fire, Nightwish, Stratovarius... all through random crapin hte related videos area XD. IT all started with Dragonforce, abck when that was the only power metal I knew lol.

  • Yeah, that's actually a really good way to explore music, especially since none of it is played on FM radio.

Haha, not very surprising DragonForce was the first band of its genre that you discovered. Ever since they hit it big with "Through the Fire and the Flames" and, more importantly, "Guitar Hero", they've become a trendy, Hot Topic-/MTV-esque band.

  • I actually listened to them long before Guitar Hero lol. I first heard "Fury of the Storm", on internet radio, liked the sound, and went from there lol.

  • nightwish don´t is power, or speed metal ¬¬ in any case for talk about Nightwish first listen to Epica, Within temptation, Amberian dawn, sirenia, tristania,Olga romanova or anything like those bands, that are Gotic and Symphonic metal...

Anyways Sonata arctica it´s good i really like´t like a Stratovarius, angra, rhapsody, fairyland..etc...

  • i dont hear symphonic and gotic metal ^^

mmm only power, melodic, progressive, folk and heavy ^^

  • :O like a Eluveitie or Elvenking i mean Folk metal a great music and awesome bands

regards and of course nightwish is cool but its a different style and kind of music

BTW: Melodic is like a ??? or some death melodic "Tracedawn, childrem of bodom...." :P see ya

  • oh yes, i have heard those bandas mmm except tracedawn ^^

    and are really good ^^

  • Nightwish? :(

  • did you ever listen to dragonforce live?

they're awful while sonata is almost as good as in studio

herman li can't play his own solo.

  • A amazing song, and think this is the first song sonata arctica made, im writing music oppgave about sonata arctica, and its realy funny :)

  • I know this band from 99 too! twas a CD compilation from an argentine magazine, The song was Picturing the past and I purchased Ecliptica shortly after that, By FAR, their best album and one of my power metal's top 10

  • This is easily their best album.

  • definately. id give winterhearts guild a close second

  • This is the catchiest thing ever written.

  • Love the intro! The song gets a little dull as it goes on, but for the most part it is totally worth listening to!

  • it doesn't get dull the solos kick ass the song gets more energetic as it goes

listen to my dreams but a drop of fuel for a nightmare that song goes from dull to energetic to dull to energetic to beautiful

  • one of my favorite choruses

  • Simple, yet epic.

  • That is how awesome sonata arctica is.

  • Jani did an amazing solo here! Song owns!

  • first heard this on a compilation tape given to me at a maiden gig back in 99 in paris. crackin song

  • catchy too

  • This is a great song
