  • the Ian Curtis gag is sick but hilarious and a work of genius

  • Wow! It's Harfynn Teuport!!

  • Uzi like a metal dick in my hand, magazine like a big testicle gland

  • classic piece cos the top sheet is a dry weaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave

  • Got the original of Cher on VHS instead of Madges Fadge!

  • The other furq uzi lover rip ends with a closing shot of cher instead of madonna ... strange.

  • Fur-Q had me absolutely rolling. Sheer genius!

  • It's a dry weave!

  • I love Chris Morris he is a genius! Panty Smiles I'm sure it was Chers minge we entered originally FUR Q all

  • @custardo1

Correct. I believe that Cher's lawyers took out an injunction on behalf of her minge, and in all subsequent broadcasts (and the DVDs etc), it was M. Ciccone's minge that became the destination.

  • Did we just enter Madge's vadge at the end?

  • Probably the best thing about this video is that every single character is played by the same person, and yet you probably don't even notice that on first viewing because it's not even the joke.

  • Hopefully when Fur Q does his 2011 tour he's going to kill Radio One disc jockey Christopher Moyles.

  • The whole controversy is preposterous, the thirteen people that clicked 'dislike' were obviously being ironic.

  • BapsWent

  • The Ian Curtis bit is fucking brilliant.

  • Yeah...more Chris Morris on TV please.

  • Has anyone got any idea what song is playing during the Ian Curtis bit? It sounds a bit like Ned's Atomic Dustbin but I can't think what song it might be :(

  • @AllYouCanRapeBuffet think they just mocked something up to sound like new order, in a not quite getting the joy division thing right manner.

  • @AllYouCanRapeBuffet I would very much like to know this too.

  • 2:38 they've seemed to have caught a shooting star in the background of the Fur Q clip

  • @charlytheo2007 It's a bit of ash from the fire

  • Cried at 'Sinead O'Connor' ahahaha.

  • The man had the balls to black up and do a rap. LMAO.

  • 'Dylan is in hospital after eating a rotten wulf' HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • what song is playing at 1:15? sounds like memory tapes, but that stuffs new

  • @johnnyviscious2

He says "the work of 'he's a singer' Bob Dylan"

  • Take a good look at this folks, satire on TV doesn't happen like this anymore....

  • dosen't get funnier than morris.

  • ...if you don't like Rap, this record won't convert you, but if you listen to and understand the song words, and the message in them... well, make your own mind up.

  • This is brilliant comedy. Only neg I'd give it, is that it reinforces the association between Rap and Gangsta, which is mostly a reference to a single recording, Ice-T's "Cop Killer". An because of this, and the fact that many Americans are only exposed to black music through Rap, it makes for a very quick and easy relationship between black people, hatred and violence: An unfortunate combination. You Tube "Grandmaster Flash The Message"...

  • @vapourmile To be fair though, the rappers themsleves (and their popularity) are the only ones who can be blamed with that kind of association. Ice-T looks fairly tame in comparison with some of the ones knocking about today, and it has become a whole lot more popular among mainstream audiences.

  • and the comfort you wont believe cause the topsheet is a dryweave

  • "WOW! IT'S HARFYNN TEUPORT!"

  • What is the word he says before 'singer' when he refers to Bob Dylan?

  • @johnnyvicious2 he's a? :S

  • @purerizzo Good call, thanks. Strange syntax but then it is Chris Morris

  • 'The work of he's a singer Bob Dylan', I think.

  • "on the stage, during the stage show, live, as it's performed..."

  • "Hello, Ian Curtis here! I watch Rok TV everyday!"

  • @ChestyMcGee The number of people who must've gone "Oooooh!" when they saw that...

  • rap music sumed up in like 60 secs

"he was greatful i shot his painful mother fucking pig was a uzi lover....."

  • rap music sumed up in like 60 secs

  • There are a lot of comments here complaining about the Ian Curtis send-up, but what about portraying Sinéad O'Connor as an ostrich - it's a bloody bloody disgrace! As an ostrich lover I find it deeply offensive, and will be writing to my bishop about it immediately.

  • love george formby singing dylan tunes. really made me piss my sides

  • The Nirvana bit is almost certainly tbe best thing that has ever been on TV ever in any country ever.

  • Cunt...

    Bitch...

    Cunt, Bitch, Motherfucker!

  • Cop [blam] bitch whore [blam] bitch cop [blam] bitch cop bitch [blam] cop mother[blam]. Uh-huh-huh-huh.................... bitch

    Just too good

  • "Uzi like a metal dick in ma hand, Magazne like a testicle gland...!!" Love your Hip-Hop Morris, you da maaayan!!

  • This kind of reminds me of when you had MTV Europe in the UK, sitting in the pub at lunchtime and and some advert would come on in German or French and for 30 seconds you could imagine you were in a another country.

  • ...brilliant nirvana parody...

even looks and sounds like cobain...

  • I seem to remember that the Rok TV segments on The Day Today were bits they allowed Morris to write and produce by himself (unlike the rest of the show that was written by Iannucci, Baynham and the cast) which is why he plays all the characters.

  • jeez this is magic, seen it million times but gets better and better, for me, this rok tv segment is greatest comdey character acting i've ever seen. chris does everyone, every1 perfectly also. day today is best tv show ever!! FACT!!

  • @TheCAPTAINDESTROYER I know - the presenters, the Cobain, the rappers, the Jarvis Cocker and the words themselves, e.g. "Once a month, you become a slave/To a tidal wave". Just so well performed/written. Man is Chris Morris impressive.

  • i shat myself laughing when ian curtis shows up. lol its so sick but funny. love the day today and joy division :D

  • "...'cause the topsheet/ Is a dryweave!"

  • "Once a month you'll become a slaaave!"

    Awesome!

  • Chris morris would probably score a #1 album if he were to ever make a record!!! =D

  • The message is clear...never eat a rotten wolf.

  • no1 watches tv anymore

  • Chris Morris, TV needs you back!

    It's so stale now.

  • I like how this song about brutal murder and necrophilia is held together by an innocuous, squeaky-clean Phil Collins sample.

  • That Ian Curtis clip was hilarious XD

  • Musical parodies are the best. Rok TV is my fave Day Today sketch. MTV Europe in the 90s impression is spot on. Esp the awkward English. The Rolling Stone commentators uber-cool response to Fur-Q is hilarious. Such astute humour.

  • I think Morris possibly enjoyed being Sukie Bapswent too much! He's not too bad at the whole drag gig

  • ah MTV Europe..

  • "A comfy pal who says Never Mind."

  • 'These killings are obviously ironic' chris morris come back we need you!

  • "A-ha! I did the bitch in as she lay twitchin'. I knew she was an oooozzzzzy loveeerrrrr!"

Those words were created to be put together in that order.

  • Ah the 90's My fave decade for comedy, music etc... TV is getting worse!!!

  • George Formby impression is perfect XD

  • @pathammond Yeah how the hell does he do that?

    Years ago too...

  • wow, it's harfynn teuport!

  • shove it ** ya mother******* *** and fry it

  • Jeez he's hot in drag. DAMN.

  • Rotten Wolf, two simple words - one of the best lines in comedy.

  • FUKKKKKKKKKK

  • CHRIS MORRIS IS SO FIT.

    especially in drag.

    I feel weird.

  • FUR Q!

    PMSL

  • "These killings are obviously ironic....."

Come back to British TV Chris Morris. Your country needs you

  • "HELLO, IAN CURTIS HERE." lmao

  • Is it wrong that all the music in this clip sounds so good? Hell that could be a Nirvana song.

  • that was Nirvana's "smells like teenspirit" parody, duh!!!

  • This is what MTV is SUPPOSED to be! I hate what my generation wants on TV today. :(

  • Fucking right!

  • Ian Curtis deserves sending up..He was a bloody tory + course the George formby is a voice over DOHHHHHH

  • You're basing your opinion of Ian Curtis on what party he voted for...

    ...Yeah, that's highly relevant.

    Fucking Labourite scum.

  • derrin zicks...lol

  • honest? really? truly?

  • It's original footage. They also recently discovered that "Cop Killer" (originally thought to be written by Ice T) was in fact composed for the organ in 1729 by J.S. Bach, with the first recorded performance being at the inauguration of Pope Clement XII in 1730.

  • Kudos for getting your dates correct, stavrosmaginty.

  • I know . I was there!

  • @stavrosmaginty

There's academic debate as to whether it was actually for Clement or for Benedict XIV.

  • FUR-Q totally owns all today's rappers!

  • I really wish Chris Morris was on TV more... Such a genius...

  • Chris Morris is every TV company's worst nightmare, he's like a loose canon. The fact that even Channel 4 had trouble handling his innovative style shows just how clever this guy is. Just wish there was a broadcaster with enough guts to give him a voice again!

  • @tattooedprincess23 no, he's clever and funny, he has no chance of being on tv these days

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone know if trey187123 is yanking my leg? If not, where the hell can I find this video?

  • Elastoplast the faster plaster!

  • i think that rap song is better than the stuff out now

  • this is amazing, like ketamine.

  • George formby fucking epic

  • "Once a month, you'll become a slave.

    To a tidal wave"

  • Suki bapsweat ....... I nearly pissed myself !

  • hello ian curtis here, i watch rok tv every week :)

  • "You can't kill everyone, 'cause then there'd be no-one left to respect..."

  • I am offended by the implication to kill Mark Goodier.

  • Good to see Nirvana getting the piss taken when they were still around (well barely)

  • acturly kurt, krist and dave were shown this in a interview and they all just laughed and kurt said i think we should do that. i cant find the interview on here but im pretty sure it was on youtube where i saw it

  • Brings it home how long ago this was, that.

  • ladies and gentlemen, chris morris, the man, the show, the living ledgend!

  • Just to confirm. Is Morris playing EVERYBODY in this? Including Cobain?

  • yeah, basically everyone, hes one of the best comedy actors ever, hes really versatile

  • yeah, except he only plays Kurt in Nirvana.

  • Lulz

  • haha! this program was way ahead of it's time, and still is. it'll be another 10 years before things catch up to this!

  • Genius.

  • i feel realy offended by the threat to kill mark goodier

  • This is hilarious and not spam. Stop marking it down.

  • once a month you become a slave yeah too a tidal wave.

  • i like joy division but i wasn't offended by the ian curtis bit cos i thought it was sending up the general tastelessness of the MTV channels.

  • I have this on VHS from the first time it was broadcast and the end shot was originally going up Cher's vagina. On this version it's Madonna. Must have been copyright issues somewhere along the line.

  • YES! the rights to Cher's vagina are now owned by the Elvis estate. Well observed!!

  • I think it's hypocritical to laugh at everything that isn't personal to you, then get offended by one part of it, like the Ian Curtis skit.

Either it's all OK to laugh at, or none of it is OK.

It's about tolerance and not taking things too seriously. You can't have a go at people for missing the point with the paedeo special, then get all high and mighty when he mocks one of your heros.

  • It's a fact of life some things WILL offend you. What you need to do is learn to tollerate, because there will be things you like that offend other people too. Instead of climbing on high horses and protesting, people should learn to understand that being offended is a part of life, and you have NO right whatsoever to not be offended. That is real freedom. It's a better solution than censorship and mind-policing.

  • You have the right to be offended, just not to chastise others for not being offended.

You can't tell someone they have no right to be offended and then say it's a better solution than mind-policing...because that's effectively what you are suggesting.

    but otherwise yeah, I agree

  • I said you don't have the right to NOT be offended. Meaning it's not up to the state to ensure you're not offended.

Invertedchords, great descontruction of my argument. Or incase that has gone over your head, "no YOU shut the fuck up"

  • Either your point isn't very clear, or I am very tired - what exactly do you mean by people having no right to not be offended & it not being the state's responsibility (anymore?) ?.

Could you devise an example, or an expanded explanation of this, I don't quite get it - do you mean we should take exception at anything that could be construed as offensive...or what? Sorry to be tedious, I have a feeling as soon as you outline it i'll kick myself

  • @JeefCakes never thought of it like that before, well done.

  • shut the fuck up

  • sounds just like something Bob would do. Eat a rotten wolf that is.

  • their Nirvana pantyliner song is genuinely a good song haha

so is Uzi Lover to some extent

what a genius Chris Morris is, but a bit below the belt with the swinging skeleton of Ian Curtis (RIP) but still quality sketch, Chris Morris can do it all

  • That Ian Curtis bit is one of those things I feel like I really shouldn't be laughing at, but can't help myself anyway XD

  • uzi lover is a rip of easy lover by Phil Collins and the nirvana one is like teen spirit n lithuim! cock, bitch cock, bitch, motherfucker

  • Why is that below the belt? Curtis DID kill himself by hanging you know?

  • George Formby, genius - many thanks

  • MAGAZINE LIKE A BIG TESTICLE GLAND

  • Kobain did'nt even Do the hard drugs, Infact , I can tell You all now that He topped Himself , due to underestimating the strenth of CAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I haven't seen this clip in donkeys years. Like the plank I am, I started reading your comment thinking you were an ardent Nirvana fan refusing to accept the reasons behind Cobain's suicide.

That was until I read the second line explaining the real reason.

Cake - nice one. Thanks, I haven't laughed out loud in ages.

  • "Wohoo, I'm Suki BapsWent"... XD... gets me every time

  • Is it just me or is Chris Morris quite hot as a woman?

  • The Ian Curtis thing: I think he's having a go at people endorsing stuff they don't know about - they'd do it even if they were dead.

  • very discreet

  • that's too fucking far for me now too ! Out of order when Disrespecting a legend like George Fornbey ! bang out of order to the king of banjo.

  • Formby is hardcore!!!

  • The Ian Curtis thing is the best because he was a Nazi who couldn't sing. He also wanked off rotten wolves.

  • Actually, it's recently come to light that some of the wolves he wanked off weren't rotten at all and most were just a bit off.

  • You're kidding, right? Why diss Ian Curtis? Your favorites evidence to me that you have great musical taste, why bring down on Joy Division?

  • its humour mate,

maybe go back to watching two ronnies

  • You take music, life and yourself too seriously. People who become offended on other people's behalf are bad enough, but don't be offended by proxy for the DEAD!

  • Exactly. People get offended too much already; the last thing we need are stand-ins.

  • ha ha ian curtis

  • One of the best bits of British comedy EVER! Hilarious!

  • Christopher Morris' finest 4 minutes.

  • In the version I have, at the end, Rok TV's logo is not in Madonna's (if I am not mistaken) womb but in Cher's xD. Weird

  • I heard there were some copyright issues. That's why it's advisible to keep your vhs recordings of Chris Morris's shows after you buy the dvd.

Rumour has it Cher was most displeased with how her clip was used. Which is bizarre considering her constant lack of clothing while performing.

  • One of my all time favourite things ever. Especially Ian Curtis, Fur-Q and Sinead as an ostrich.

Man, I wish British comedy was still this good.

  • Haha! Nirvana doing sanitry towell adverts! That's a concept I think Kurt would love!

Can anybody get the lyrics to the advert? I'm deaf in one ear so I cant hear it very well..

  • Once a month you become a slave to a tidal wave, yeah. Body's little clock could mess up your frock, but Panty Smile's a lovely thing. It absorbs everything. You can wear them in the High Street, body contours very discreet, and the comfort you won't believe, 'cos the top sheet is a dry weave. Yeah. Panty Smile, Panty Smile....

  • I fancy Chris Morris in drag too... and I'm a girl.

  • Cop! Bitch! Cop, bitch, motherfucker! XD

  • I thought it was c*nt, bitch, c*nt, bitch motherfucker?

    Whatever, hilarious!

  • this has to be the best TDT clip on youtube

  • What ho? I'm Suki Babswint!

  • Hello, Ian Curtis here! I watch Rock TV everyday!

  • Faveourite bit!

  • If the Ian Curtis bit was more than just a 'cameo', I agree I'd find it tasteless.

But the upbeat Manc accent and that image of a swinging skeleton, lol, shames me into laughing.

  • amazing "magazine like a big testical gland" hahaha that line cracks me up so much.

ps fuck ian curtis if you cant find that funny your missing the point

  • I'm a huge nirvana fan but that send up of nirvana is the best I've ever seen. lol i actually liked the panty smile song.

  • "the whole controvesy is proposterous. these killings are obviously ironic." lampooned perfectly. chris morris is sexy as a woman.

  • He looks EXACTLY like Sandra Bernhard. The similarly is amazing.
