A good fighter can use any weapon and win and survive. The tiny 5.56 is less lethal, the 7.62X39 lacks some power. When the 7.62X51NATO was to be replaced by the 5.56NATO, some old-fashion generals complained it would not have enough lethality.

My clones have run flawlessly in all conditions I've put it through. I haven't "shoveled" mud into the bolt open but the BCG has gotten plenty of mud on it running it in the rain/dirt without a hiccup do maybe my m4gery is the exception....

What one gun lacks the other makes up for it, ak is extremely reliable but not accurate. The m-16 is very accurate but jams up a lot. I think they're trying to replace the m-16 series with the hk-416 and hk-417.

A good fighter can use any weapon and win and survive. The tiny 5.56 is less lethal, the 7.62X39 lacks some power. When the 7.62X51NATO was to be replaced by the 5.56NATO, some old-fashion generals complained it would not have enough lethality.
I would prefer to fight an army that uses the 5.56nato. I would pick the 7.62X51

seeing as a gun jam basically means death you'd go for reliablity, give me an AK any day. Stopping power is also a big thing, a man on adrenaline wont go down with a small bullet, AK fires a nice big one. most engagements are under 300 yards so the M16's slightly better accuracy is not as important as you'd think. & the AK's weight shouldnt be an issue if your a soldier lol. lastly you can wear shades & make samuel L jackson quotes...the enemy will be killed before you've even fired

Under 100 meters, not much difference, and the AK is cheaper and easier to maintain.. If you have ignorant troops, AK is the better choice. Iif you want to engage targets at 600 meters you need to be using Stoner's weapon. - over 200 meters, you need to really doctor the AK to get any accuracy . Ammo choice - ammo choice is critical. Never use anything bigger than 122 grain in the AK, 135 or 155 grain goes all over the place. Never use .223 Rem in an AR-series,

id probaly take the ak. ive seen it have some good long range capabilities and it will always fire. the m16 might not fire and jam easier. ill take the extra wieght and reliability over accuracy and lightwieght. a bad gun in good hands will do wonders. a good gun in bad hands is useless

@elox02 AK is more reliable and durable, mostly used in those 3rd world revolutionary countries who drag their guns threw mud, sand, swamps and still expect it to fire. M16 is more accurate than the AK has more accessories and lighter but the trade off is reliability (meaning you have to pay more attention to it).

I'm sorry your thick skull prevents you from looking at anything objectively. Ps the Russian army doesn't use the ak47 anymore. They use Ak74m an-94 along with other modernized variants.

@artactical1. Wow what a shitty way to compare weapons. Sight unseen and borrowed. What brand AR was it and what brand Ak was it? 80-90% of current ARs are out of spec crap. I also would never buy a crappy WASR10 sight unseen. sounds a little bullshit to me but who knows. I thoroughly inspect every firearm I purchase or inspect parts before I build. I personally enjoy both and have several of both.

Borrowed an AR and took it to the range.Fired 2 or 3 rounds before a jam that could not be cleared there.Benched it at home and found that round had neatly separated and the cap end was stuck in the breech.EZ outed it and gave it back to it's owner.Bought an AK,sight unseen.Took it to the range and fired round after round without any malfunctions.Nuff Said!!

My clones have run flawlessly in all conditions I've put it through. I haven't "shoveled" mud into the bolt open but the BCG has gotten plenty of mud on it running it in the rain/dirt without a hiccup do maybe my m4gery is the exception....
