As for the music, this video is a first part of a medley named "Boys of our people" and dedicated to the Great Patriotic War (1941—1945), to the soldiers layed down lifes for our country, to, generally, what the war and the victory mean for Russian people.
In this part of the medley we sing fragments of two very popular songs written before the war — "Moscow in May" (music by Pokrass) and "Beloved town" (music by Bogoslovsky).
See also the second part, where the pre-war optimistic tune is suddenly interrupted by disturbing chords sounding the beginning of the unexpected war...
