How do you know this radiation is from Fukushima? The East Coast and midwest are dotted with aging nuclear facilities that could be leaking radioactive garbage.
@drewzillasaurusrex - That is an excellent question. Sure, anything's possible but where we tested this Michigan rain, it is upwind of the East Coast, significantly north of most Midwest reactors. But we were downwind of three reactors, one of which, is one of the most troubled in the country - Palisades on Lake Michigan. The waters we tested around Palisades and the nearby Cook plant were normal. A gamma scintillation counter used as a spectrometer would confirm Fukushima radionuclides.
@masterofmanythings1 - Thanks for the offer but I'm booked solid schedule-wise to be able to do a good job. I really appreciate the offer. You can hear me on Monday nights at 9pm PST on the Rense Radio Network talking about Fukushima meltdowns and fallout in America. renseradio [dot] com
You are aware that the highest radiation emitters in the United States are coal-fired power plants. Go to the slag-piles at any coal-fired plant and you will see real rad counts.
@warhawke223 - Read our "Seasons Readings" post and you'll see that we detected in jet flight to and from Michigan over 5 times higher radiation at 28,000 feet than the manufacturer of our detector says is normally found at 30,000. Normally found includes the high radiation emissions from coal-fired plants. Good observation, but also note that where we detected this was nowhere even near a coal-fired plant which clearly points the finger at Fukushima fallout. Thanks for the astute comment.
@warhawke223 < May be some corporation getting rid of their radioactive waste hoping to burn it away; couple of years ago.
Here in Canada, inspectors caught a gasoline pump station selling gas with PCBs mixed in it - highly toxic fumes on the road ! And it had been going on for a while as a way to avoid costly storage of used PCB ( transformer coolant ).
next time try doing the reading without the bath towel,no doubt,the laundry detergent is radioactive,due to the phosphorus,in the ingredients.....which is mined in a uranium mine...as is flouride,which is in the laundry water if you live where the water is flouridated.....or just take a reading on the bath towel before you try and get the rain water reading...food for thought....
@gonzosplayhouse - There was/is no phosphorus in the detergent used to wash that towel. And, um, phosphorus and flouride are not mined in a uranium mine - uranium is. Lay off the toothpaste, gonzo.
@slkeys99 - We would need a lab or a spectrometer to do that analysis. That said, we are able to tell relative amounts of alpha, beta and gamma and this sample, which did not decay to background, is clearly not radon progeny. We'll be posting about this on EnviroReporter [dot] com tomorrow with more comprehensive analysis. Thanks for asking an intelligent question... now if you could part with about $17,000 for that spectrometer, you'd become my favorite person!
@EnviroReporter Hey MR. Hands.... Wassup? I am a refugee from your site during the early years. Greetings to you an yours. Tell me, what is your family going to do about that where they live in Michigan?
For folks who aren't familiar with radiation fallout and the Fukushima meltdowns, you'll find a lot of information on our website EnviroReporter [dot] com.
this is no accident.. this was planned.. and thats why they wont talk about it. but they could just release it in our water and ckill us fast for the 90% depopulation plan.. Because the enemy that hates the USA is covertly incontrol of the USA
@paintingmymasterpiec - We have reports from North Carolina in the last week: see our comments from "biggee" in the post "Radiation Conversation" at our website EnviroReporter [dot] com.
That is absolutley shocking - but i think we are stupid if we think the radiation has just gone away. Its still going on and alot of people have forgotten about it. Thank you for the report. I will be sharing this online.
How does CPM's translate to microsieverts ?
Krisesakes 1 month ago
@Krisesakes - According to the Inspector Alert manual, 33,400 CPM = 10 mR/hr = 100 μSv/hr.

What a true horror show Fukushima has become. And this is going to go on and on and on for a VERY long time.
