I have a 330 that i absolutely love. lately ive been entertaining the idea of getting a 620, tricking it out with a bigsby, putting some lighter strings on it and using it as more of a lead guitar. anyone have any thoughts on that as fellow guitarists and rickenbacker enthusiasts?

@arthmler I've heard of a few people doing that before and found that Rics excel at lead in a surprising way.

@Soger91 sorry Soger it is definitely a 660/6 Amber fireglo. I can send you a photo if you like. Rickenbacker no longer make em in that colour and we picked one up that was on backorder with Wildwood guitars. But this 620 is nice and will eventually fade to amberfireglo colour in time.

330's are nice, i love the body shape, but something about dot inlays just turns me away. I have the same guitar as the vid we just watched and its just amazing. But what color is your 330?

Yeah Rics are about the best there is, if you don't mind waiting 6 mos. to 2 years for one. Make that double time for lefties like me.

How long did you have to wait for yours?

I think it was $1299 when I bought it, but Rickenbacker has raised the prices on a lot of their guitars pretty recently so I don't know what they are right now. Worth every penny, though, in my opinion.

I just dropped 1650 on mine. Fireglo also. Wooooeeeee its pretty sweet. Never played anything better. (Maybe the 360/12) but ohhhh man its awesome

it's great. It's one of those guitars that you fall in love with all over again each time you play it. It is on the small side so that took a little to get used to, but once you get it, it plays like a dream.

When I worked at Ric, I never thought of folks getting THAT into opening the case for the first time. It gives me a source of pride.

The actually stopped playing Ric's around '93 due to reliability issues on tours. They used them in videos to appear more hip. Not that anything could make Jim Babjack appear hip.
