fun! used to live in brooklyn but worked in manhattan, and i'd bring my bike to work on the subway, then bike home at night...sometimes drunk...sometimes in the rain...it was supercool biking through times square at 4 am, cuz i usually had it to myself...all the heat from the neon signs would raise the temperature by about 10 degrees right in the square...i love biking in the city!!
Interesting video:-) You came very close to scratching a lot of cars with your handle bars/pedals etc.
So what do you do for work?Design cycling computer games perhaps? Maybe you should give it up and take part in the Tour de France. You've got the skills:-)
Ok, he rides the wrong way up one-way streets, rides on the wrong side of the road, he's all over the road, sneaks in between cars, he doesn't stop at stop signs, or pedestrian crosswalks or some red lights.
Looks like a typical cyclist to me! I've been riding a bike downtown since I've been 8 years old, and the way to survive is to follow the rules of traffic, not defy them.
Please watch the video again and tell me at what point I don't stop for a pedestrian or red light.
In this video, the only way I violate the rules of traffic is that I am riding a bike and stopping for pedestrians and red lights. The cardinal rule of traffic in Caracas, as in much of Latin America, is to go as fast as possible at all times, violate the rights of others as much as possible, not sweat, and never, ever scratch your car.
But at 3:33 and 4:35, straight through a 4 way stop. At 5:50, left turn on red, following the other bicycle. At 7:32, passing stopped cars at crosswalk, just missing lady, and then continue through crosswalk without stopping.
I drive a car, but I use my bike most of the time as I live near downtown, so I'm sympathetic (and critical) of both sides. In other words, I'm objective. 90% of bicycle riders don't stop when they should.
Los Ruices freeway ramps are terrifying. Plus the narrow lanes on the avenue and the occasional presence of armed robbers makes it quite an adventure. Too bad it's such an important link in the city!
Excelente!

I guess you agree to the other stuff.
