This is more than awesome, this is Stryper. They opened for Anthrax and had the family jewels to throw Bibles to the crowd. In my personal opinion, they created Skillet's audience.And I met them all, they are hardcore Christian. Oz Fox is the best, by the way.

Whitecross is good. Used to play Whitecross on my campus radio station back in the 1980s. ... IMO, not better than Stryper. I wouldn't put any Christian rock band, certainly of that era, above Stryper. Not Petra. Not Rez Band. Nobody.

OK, i'm 15 what one should I like more? In this worlds eyes I should Skillet more. But I dont they sound like any other nooby christian band of today. thats my opinion. i prefer bands like Stryper, Holy Soldier, and my FAVORITE ,the greatest christian rock band ever, White Heart.

@CozyP123 There's a ton of bands out there that are Christian that you wouldn't guess as so. Also, check out pretty much every band on the label Solid State - they're all Christian metal bands.

@CozyP123 Im a Christian and i say just listen to whats good, of course there is a lot of demonic music out there, but it doesnt necessarilly have to be "Christian" to be good. but it seems to me that Stryper is the only true Christian band

If you like those bands, check out Barren Cross. Vocalist sounds like a mix between Bruce Dickinson and Lizzy Borden. They are pretty good.

@CozyP123 skillet........ a nooby christian band? their carrying on the work of stryper.... stryper was one of the first great christian rock bands and john cooper the lead vocalist and bassist of skillet was inspired by styrper and tried to reach out to people through music just like stryper does!!!!!!!! any band that does music for Jesus is a great band to me because they will reap what they sow.. and Jesus is perfect so they will reap greatly!!!!!!!

@CozyP123 Some bands, Skillet I'm questionative on... like P.O.D. are "Christian" but don't perform for us, they are in it for the money, imho... and don't truly, whole-heartidly walk out the Christian Faith...

Pray for them, the industry can be very harmful to the soul...

I'd venture to say lots of the older bands are better, though I've never heard of much of them, it just seems they were in it with the heart, not the talent or drive to be famous...

Musically Skillet wins hands down. But as far as lyrics and spreading the word of God Skillet can not touch Stryper IMO. When you heard a Stryper song you KNEW what they were singing about
