  • @wbrown103 he learned from bill bachman.

  • its not instrumental and ensemble its individual and ensemble

  • Not better than bill bachman but he's ok

  • one of the best ive heard

  • I used to work with his aunt. Lol.

  • @doublebassheeltoe what?? lol

  • @doublebassheeltoe lol cool!

  • i swear 1:20-1:28 is the most melodically musical thing i've ever heard on tenors

  • Unlike most of the solos he keeps the beat going throughout... instead of a bunch of thrown together rudiments...

  • "yes".

  • That one guy at the end!!!!! YES

  • Your hands flow very well, very good job.

  • @slitherzpin

he marched for BD, if he didnt flow then something was terribly wrong lol.

  • I hear some licks from 98 's book too

  • I'm almost positive those first couple licks were from Bill Bachman

  • Btw. Bill had his opus finished before we went on tour in 1996.

  • i don't have enough balls to play the opus. the camera man is scott johnson

  • i see that a lot of ppl are commenting that he sounds like bill bachman in some parts. But this was filmed in 2001. When did bill write opie's opus?

  • whats up with the camera guy? lol. friggin awesome run: "mhmm". epic finish: "yes"

  • the start at 0.13 is sooo awesome !

  • Wow lol opies opus!

  • I'm gonna be honest and say that i don't really like it when people try to play drumset beats on quads. Other than that though, i love this.

  • Lol you can totally hear I Zimbra by Talking Heads at 1:04.

  • Opies Oppus!

  • This was my tenor tech in 2003 for the Glassmen

  • where's the 2nd half??

  • I like this guy

  • Yeah. You can hear "Opie's Opus" in the intro.

  • For all of you folks hollering Bachman. Devin was in the Blue Q before going to BD. So of course there is Bill Bachman influence.

  • he pulled some bill bachman licks out and put them in it nice solo

  • yea theres a lot, particularly from Opies Opus. The part at 46 seconds I believe is from diddy, whoch is something the blue devils play and brian spicer used in his I&E solo in 99

  • haha yeah this does remind me of a cadence,bj

  • where's the second half? they could've posted both off of vic firth...
