@FullBloodedItalians swan and ajax are ghost because if you complete army of the night in the hang out 2 player they both fight so one of them must die thats why they are there as ghosts

Anyone in the game who isn't one of the 9 Warriors, will have the non-cool-looking special. But, I think these newb specials for ghost Cleon is also nice, cause when you're dead, you lose skills, experience, and everything.

You don't. They're just ghost versions of the characters. You unlock them by completing Armies of the Night.
