Incense And Peppermints - Strawberry Alarm Clock [Santa Barbara, California] - No.01 on 10/14/1967. 14 weeks Top 40 - "CLASSIC Rocker for the flower children." - Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era (Disc 2)-1998. NOTE: The first LP released by the band and the only LP of their career to make an impact on the album charts, it reached #1 nationally.
@JamesTKirkCobain I agree. Funny how I like a song, but am not sure of the lyrics. I look up the lyrics and am amazed that they make no sense whatsoever. And I don't just mean this song. It may be that one has to be high to fully understand the song?
to all those who are remininscing....my dad was 13....yeah...my dad....I had to wait for those Time Life Record commercials before I heard this song....wasnt born will 1978....
It was on the episode where homer becomes a hippy and he and some other hippies play in a car , homer says that it wont freak anybody out and then he puts the backstreet boys
This song was released in 1967, when I was in kindergarten...growing up in LA, these guys were a local band....I remember hearing this on 93 KHJ AM radio
I hear you there..I was 10 and living back on the East Coast..It was played there a whole lot as well. I always loved this song and so many others of the day.
SAC on a 45 record player - is this not the perfect use of YouTube?

I was reading the lyrics to this song, it means absolutely nothing. It`s just pure insanity which I guess may be what it`s about.

@JamesTKirkCobain
Do remember this was 1967-68. Happy, trippy insanity was a fairly popular subject at the time.
