  • sounds great ,are you familiar with the american special strat , if so whats your opinion of them

  • GO PATS

  • Great playin´. Awesome guitar and well adjusted sound in my opinion! :D

  • nice playing-appreciate the site-ignore the haters-they either can't play,are jealous, or haven't reached puberty yet

  • holy shit i was worried about the country straw hat at the beginning but your playing and the guitar make up for it

  • These are awesome videos! Your like mark knopfler if he wore a straw hat and played polka dot guitars!

  • what kind of gauge strings would you recommend for a buddy guy stratocaster

  • Hey,

Great Playing, What kind of cab are you running the Z through? or is it the combo version. Thanks

  • are these any good for mid-ditorted tones kinda like voodoo child kinda thaangs

  • would recommend this guitar for something a bit different?

  • Are those the hot gold? or the original gold? How are the fret ends on this guitar?

Does Fender Mexico make the white and red ones still - anybody know?

  • i used to own that axe, now i have the red and white one!

  • 2:33 = legendary!!

  • Nice playing, but why is this video called a review?

  • great playing man , im learning so much from you a big thanks

  • Great tone. Tasteful playing. But something is off... hmmm.... what could it be??

Oh, I know!! The Bill Cosby Sweater, the Garth Brooks hat, the Harry Potter glasses, the Shitkicker goatee, and the Polka Dot Strat...

Yeah... kinda weird mix. And the righty watch isn't helping much.

But it's a sweet axe, no doubt. And Buddy is the man.

  • I am so glad to see that you focused on the important things in this video... oh, and I am a lefty, therefore the watch on the right hand makes sense. And my glasses are square, not round. So much for the stupid Harry Potter reference.

  • Hey, easy, Toby Keith. I commended your playing.

I never saw a lefty play righty. That's different.

It's hard to focus on anything when I got a virtual rainbow bright of fashion sense staring at me.

  • The name isn't Toby Keith. Other than that, if you want to make constructive remarks, those are always welcome. But the way in which you word them is sometimes as important as the content itself ;)

  • @tcinpa37 you're retarded.

  • :) great guitar !!! i have a 1999 fender strat... Mexican!its a weird aqua blue colour... only 1nna them made!! ... ( ive got a Tele too) that is probably going to be the guitar that replaces the aqua strat... played one of those at saint johns music in Ottawa Ontario... great sounding great too play too!!!

    Keep on jammin man!

  • I love this guitar! The dots just do it for me! I am currently owning a fender squire strat as my first guitar but when I'm looking for an upgrade this is where I'm looking!

By the way whats the best amp for a strat thanks?

  • OK now you've done it Mojo!! I'm green with envy. I love both BG strats but having the gold laces and that super smooth neck on the black polka-dot body is the best of both models.

  • It was indeed a fun, fun guitar! :)

  • is this guitar a mexico?

  • Only the body was. The rest was from a US Buddy Guy strat. I had to have the dots :)

  • Are you using a reverb pedal? Or is that built into the DrZ?

  • wat pick ups does the guitar come with?

and wat does buddy guy use?

  • Buddy Guy uses Lace Sensors^^

  • you changed out the pups?

  • hey are the zamps a great buy?

  • They are when ya want great tone. Period.

  • Didn't you like the original pickups? Would you recomend to buy one of this¿?

  • really nice playing, nice grooovee

  • hey i had a mexican fender strat and i want to change the pickups mm do you recommend me the lace sensors?

the blue-silver-red or the hot gold set?

  • what sound are u going for? i used tex spel's

  • how bout tex mex pups? are they any good?

  • Sure, they're fine pickups. I enjoyed them in my JV strat :)

  • I am not sure that I understand the relationship between the note selection and the humility?

  • Iv'e heard the strings are far away on buddy guys signature. is that thruth? i think im gonna buy one

  • Far away from what?

  • i think he meant the neck

  • out of all this nice guitars which one is your favorite and which less pricier one would u suggest for the blues?

  • My favorite is the Crook T style. If I were on a budget, I would buy a used Fender Tele from Mexico.

  • nice one 2:29

  • Thanks for the opinion, I've had a mexican standard before and thought it was pretty slick once I upgraded to US pickups and electronics. I just wanted to get an opinion of someone whos had their hands on it (and a lot of other guitars from the looks of it). Thanks again, I think this baby is gonna look pretty good in my own hands..

  • I think I saw on one of your posts that you upgraded pretty much everything on this guitar to custom shop hardware.. How did you like the stock neck on this guitar? I'm a big Buddy Guy fan and thinking about getting this guitar and upgrading to lace sensors but I havent been able to get my hands on on yet. So what do you think of it stock?

  • What I did was take a Buddy Guy Mexican strat and upgrade it to US BG strat. So the neck is a US Buddy Guy one.

The Mexican strat is actually quite fine, but the pickups definitely need to be upgraded imho.

  • What do u think about the ace Senor hot gold set?

  • WHAT THE FUCK! AMAZING TONE DUDE!

  • what the hell is a 17 fret guitar?

  • a 17 fret guitar is one with the neck broken off,i never heard of one

  • its a 21

  • is this just a standard strat with the buddy guy polka dots ? because i play more rock than anything and was wondering how good this would sound when playing a 'harder' rock solo like something from randy rhoads. btw great playin

  • Well, let's keep in mind that the pickups are single coils, and what you seem to want would require humbuckers. This said, it would be easy to replace the pickups with single space humbuckers to get what you are looking for :)

  • OR maybe Lace Sensors?

  • hi man, I like your posts. How many guitars do you actually own? and I thought I had a guitar fetish lol.

  • More than I need and less than I lust for :)

  • haha yeah, pretty much every guitarist knows that he or she will never be totally satisfied with their guitars.

  • no, it's a buddy guy signature. this would be garbage for playing randy rhoads, making it oddly fitting at the same time, but not what you're looking for.

  • Hey It's sounds great would your reccomend the Dr z mini z for jimi hendrix and john frusciante playing?

  • what is this guitar like for playing things like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jimi Hendrix?

  • It's great for both. I mean, it's a strat :)

  • Its for playing stuff like Buddy Guy.(The Master)

  • Great playing. How do you like the guitar? Is it stock pick-ups or havve you modded?

  • I used a MIM body with the rest of a USA BG sig strat to get the polka dots :)

I do not own that guitar anymore, but the gentleman to whom I sold it is selling it. Contact me if you want his info :)

  • inspiring

  • fantastic chops... amazing..peace

  • wats the first song?

  • It was just a backing track :)

  • sounded great

  • Very, very nicely done ThreeChord. Does your BG Strat have the Mid Boost functionality?

  • 1. Thanks!

    2. Yes, it did! (I recently traded this guitar for a USA Reverend Rocco...)

  • I love buddy guy and I love three chord guitrar and you have got the fender signature

  • similars to randys polka dot

  • Yes, but a whole lot cooler since it's Buddy Guy we're talking about, here :)

  • randy in my opinion is fucking better than buddy guy, you should listen to randy's blues solos

    rock argentina

  • I respect and welcome your opinion. It's a bit of a moot point anyway. This is art, not competition, we're talking about. I don't dislike Randy's work, and I deplore that it was cut short. This said, he could never move me with a thousand notes the way Buddy can with one.

  • Is it buddy guy strat artist signature? and is it stock pickups?

    Nice job

  • It's a MIM Buddy Guy body, with the rest of it coming from a US Buddy Guy strat.

  • Great job...but you always do a great job!! Buddy would be proud of the job you did.

    -dave

  • Those are very kind words. Buddy is a musical hero of mine...

  • I think that is very evident in the way you get so deeply into this song. I think this is one of your best..and I've watched every video I have found. Fine, Fine job!

    -dave

  • Thanks again, and thanks for watching!

  • Awesome as usual!! Be blessed:)

  • Thanks friend :)
