  • i have one of these ant it's never actually taken off before. i've been kinda afraid to fly it for a while. i'm gonna ask, on a good day, is this thing any trouble to fly at all?

i have experience with planes, but this is a whole nother thing... i've never actually flown a heavy duty RC plane before.

    Tips?

  • hi!

I have one of those too, butbought it without glow engine, so i did glow to electric conversion.

So, I was verry scared, to fly it, because I didn't know, did I calculated well, about motor, prop and battery combination.

And when i get courage to fly for the first time, i was verry surprised, how easy is to fly Nexstar!

Till now, i flew two times, without any trouble.

Now, I'm waiting for first nice day to fly, because it's winter time...

My point, dont be affraid... Just fly it!!!

  • nice landing(first time) cor i didnt think it was gona be that smooth

  • i was just out flying mine (first time)(no experience or experienced pilot near me)

i had the things that go on the front of the wings.

i didn't have the airfoil extentions to slow it down and there was fast wind. the second liftoff was tricky. the wind turned it right and it was hard to control. it was flying with the wind so it was very hard to turn or fly. so i put it on full throttle, turned it around, faced into the wind, it it slowly crash landed. BUT SOFTLY!

  • Nice, i i come into land mostly doing a dead stick landing beuase i run out of fule, the plane usally has too much momentum and is too fast to land so i found out instead fof using the elevater to bring it down use the ailerons and rudder in oppisite directions and this slows it down very quickly(amlost to a stall) then do this when you are a few feet off the ground,, it works,, but try it out first at height so you know how your plane will respond.

  • HOLY SHIT MAN THANKS!

im gonna fly it the second time in five hours.

so you are saying that when the rudder and flaps move it slows the plane down?

also, i am gonna film it with an hd home video camera and upload it with my hand dandy capture card check it out.

also, answer my question. if theres any spelling mistakes it's because my monitor is right in the path of my sun roof and every day at 1 it shines on my screen so much i can't see shit.

  • Yea, if you turn the ailerons to turn LEFT use the tail and turn it RIGHT, to the make the plane stable and slow, this is tricky but works 4 me,,, hope it goes well, what plane u flying?

    thanks

    Curtis

  • i WAS flying the nexstar arf but i took it out for a fly and it crashed nose first into cement from 30 feet not ten seconds after takeoff. the total damage is about 130 dollars. i need a new;

propeller, thing that holds engine, a new fuselage (69.99), a new wing (also 69.99!! WTF!? FOR A WING?), a new nose cone, and i think that's about it. I'm lucky the electronics or engine didn't break! a new engine WOULD BE $150!

  • @mrfourtysevenman How come it nose dove even with the AFS? Are you sure you have it setup correctly?

  • @brenoribeiro2007

dude i didnt have the select version i had the arf version. and the nexstar was a terrible trainer to me. the great planes U-can do was a better trainer and thats a 3d plane.

  • a tad windy huh.........lol
