There are two main battle that effected Byzantian history very negatively, and coused them to loose their power. One was the battle of yarmouk and the other was the Batle of Mazkiert in 1071 against Turks. After Battle of Mazkiert Byzantians couldn't recover to reach their past strong position. Only Emperor Manuel Komnen managed to put Byzantians in a good position in the time of Crusaders, But Crusaders answered as invading, destroying and burning the capital city of Constantinople.
This battle had crutial importance for both sides that loosing this battle would couse to loose middle east for Byzantians and to limit expansion of İslam for Muslim. Therefore both sides gave very importance fot this battle. I think this reasons coused battle to be lasted 6 days. Tactics used by Khalid is still a main lessons for today's military schools. Muslims defeated two superpower of that time that were Byzantians and Sasanids. Muslims became the biggest superpower of that time.

chronologically was impossible ,the peak of roman power was 90 BC to 240AD,well we suppose that classical romans face Arabs armies of the time of the Umayyads or abbasids the arab golden age, just Arab infantry was characterized being light and medium would have been a suicide charge against a Roman legion, if they had been protected by armor times of Ṣalah ad Din would be the same result, the Roman sword was made to pierce heavy armor and made deadly damage to the stomach and intestines.

There are two main battle that effected Byzantian history very negatively, and coused them to loose their power. One was the battle of yarmouk and the other was the Batle of Mazkiert in 1071 against Turks. After Battle of Mazkiert Byzantians couldn't recover to reach their past strong position. Only Emperor Manuel Komnen managed to put Byzantians in a good position in the time of Crusaders, But Crusaders answered as invading, destroying and burning the capital city of Constantinople.

This battle had crutial importance for both sides that loosing this battle would couse to loose middle east for Byzantians and to limit expansion of İslam for Muslim. Therefore both sides gave very importance fot this battle. I think this reasons coused battle to be lasted 6 days. Tactics used by Khalid is still a main lessons for today's military schools.
