Different genres of music such as Rap and Hip Hop are probably more popular than the others also. Not a very good case for comparison.

And yes i totally agree that alot of artists are too into the digital Side of recording, but alot of artists don't have a choice in what their material sounds like, labels make the decision based on what they think is going to sell and the artists are giny pigs to them. to me its about the concept of a song and how an artist can reflect that in their lyrics and i just think eminem does this alot better than mariah
